Default Jan 28 Practice - Glencross returns to main group. Hiller confirmed starter Thurs.

No surprise seeing as Hartley indicated Glencross could be good to go against the Wild

Jermain Franklin @TSNJFranklin
Glencross is on the ice this am... He missed the last 4 games with a lower body injury. #BellLetsTaIk

As it stands now looks like Glencross, Baertschi and Wolf will be out against the Wild
Quote:
Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Glencross skating on an extra line with Baertschi and Wolf. Other lines the same as last night. #Flames
Quote:
Aaron Vickers @AAVickers
Colborne took a shot off the foot in drill at practice. Toughs it out on the bench for a few minutes but has now gone down the tunnel.

Aaron Vickers @AAVickers
Wolf swaps his white jersey for a red one. Colborne was in red.
more updates as they come

Man, I was really hoping to see Baertschi and Wolf in the line-up.

I think Baertschi should be the 3rd line LW and Wolf be the 4th line LW for at least a game. Let 2 of Byron/Bollig/Raymond sit for a game.

Hoping they send Wotherspoon down, then replace Bollig and Byron with Wolf and Baertchi. That would give the Flames another scoring line with plenty of energy.

looks like Glencross, Wolf and Baertschi are out for Thursday. All 3 are skating as extras per Steinberg

Colborne took a puck off the foot and left the ice. Wolf takes his place in the rushes

Wotherspoon stays until Smid is back.

I'm beginning to get the impression none of these guys will get into the lineup unless an injury occurs...

With the lack of AHL games going on right now it is benificial to bring up guys like Sven, Wotherspoon and Wolf so you can get a look at them in practice and they won't miss any games on the farm.

I would love to swap out Raymond, Bollig and Engelland for Baertschil, Wolf and Wotherspoon but it's looking less and less likely.

It is also a big gift to these guys. They will get as much for sitting around on an NHL rooster for a week as they get paid in the AHL for the whole year.

Having Glencross back in the line up will be great for us in February. Putting him up with Backlund will allow Hartley to give Monahan-Hudler-Gaudreau sheltered defensive responsibilities and more time in the offensive zone. Our PP should improve with these guys a little more rested. Just my opinion.

Glencross said he felt alright on the ice today but not great. He pushed hard yesterday. Glencross won't play Thursday #BeIILetsTalk

I would pay to see that.

I actually want to see Hartley and Wolf have a sit-down conversation about current events. Between Hartley's accent and Wolf's accent it would be hilarious.

If Colborne's out I think Wolf is better suited to replace him on that line. It also strikes me that Glencross has had nagging injuries all year, and perhaps has returned too soon each time.

Well the good news is Cooke won't be playing tomorrow. The bad news is it is because there was a death in the family
