If Sven is just going to get 6:30 TOI with Bollig again, why even bring him up?
I hope they have more opportunity in store for him.
It doesn't help to exaggerate facts to make a point. He never got that low. He had 6:35 in one game, between 7:10 and 7:29 in 4 others, and between 8:15 and 11:-2 in the rest.

Don't get why people say things like that. Close to every single young player on this team who has "stuck" / "earned" their spot with the team started off with very little ice time, not playing with perfect line mates and turned that "6:30 TOI" on 3rd and 4th lines into more and more ice time.
If Sven can't do that, then he's not ready. If Sven needs to play with the best players on this team to show he can stick, he's not good enough. I think he's going to do fine for the record, but this mindset that Sven needs and should be given the best players on this team to ride shot gun with him so he can stick is not something that gets suggested if you want the best result for the Flames, its something that gets suggested when what you want is for Sven to make it, regardless of whether it's right for the Flames or not.

Yes. Assume the worst before anything even happens. That makes perfect sense.
It's important to get the excuses going beforehand.
I hope he does well, because another offensive guy is good. But if Bouma can have a record year playing lots of 4th line minutes, and work his way up the lineup, so can Sven.
I'm not anticipating him to do badly. And, as was said above, this ain't the 4th line from October-November when Baertschi was here last.
The one thing posters haven't talked about is the extent of Glencross' injury, which affects the playoff race as well as trade value.

Hoping Sven can get some better minutes. As for him needing to prove himself even with Bollig and Byron as linemates I don't really agree with. Ferland, Wolf, Jooris can thrive in that position but that's not what anyone expects from Sven.
Sven Backlund and Colbourne on the other hand is awesome. If he underwhelms there he won't have much of an excuse

I'm legitimately excited to see what Wolf has to offer.
Who were his linemates on he recent hot streak?
He was playing with Reinhart and Hanowski for 5 on 5 on Friday and McGrattan and Poirier on the PP.
Saturday he was with Reinhart and Poirier.
He's also played with Ferland recently and Van Brabant. He's probably had the most linemates/changes out of anyone recently. Huska keeps putting him with guys to get them going.
