They need this for highlights in games for sure.

Sure it looks a bit ridiculous but it really would change the way you watch the game on TV.

The speed and skill is so clear in those videos.

Oshie's hands at 2:58 make me want to never play hockey again. That's ridiculous.

Love this. On the latest Winter Classic show the refs had them on for a few games and some of the shots they got were unreal. It really creates a unique perspective for how the game is viewed.

No they just need to partner with the equipment manufacturers so that they can embed the cameras and necessary hardware directly into the helmets.

Fantastic video. That's a game changer if they can actually implement it.

Once they are incorporated into the helmets it will be amazing. The Ref Cams for the season opener were awesome, I was bummed when I saw it wasn't going to be in every game.

What actually happened to the ref cams? Was that just a pilot project?

I think it is an exclusive camera angle that is available to Rogers customers when using GameCenter. I also believe it is only available on select broadcasts (only Leafs games.)

I don't know. If you have access to 14 more cameras that are pointed at the play (Unless you're playing the oilers that is) should help.

LOVE this video (and the music). Really gives you a chance to (briefly) see a different/more real side to players other than cliche answers to cliche questions. That said, my favorite angle in the video seems to be the GoPro attached to some sort of arm that extends from the helmet and has some sort of gyro/stabilizing mechanism built in. Definitely something we will not see in-game...ever. Can you imagine a 1-2 foot arm coming from the top of players helmets?

I'm a Rogers gamecenter customer. I saw the ref cam at our home opener, then not again until the winter classic.
