I have the distinct feeling we'll have another crack at the Honda centre this year. Would be glorious to defeat the demons when it really counts.

I don't understand how Bollig and Byron continue to get a roster spot ever night.

I can understand Byron. Guy can out muscle bigger players and the proceeds to carry the puck past the red line and dumps it In. That's a good guy to have. You need complementary players tho that can battle to retreive the puck tho. The fourth line usually begins to come on the ice after Byron ( usually the first on the ice)is wheeling down the Ice. Bollig and Stajin are not the right players to dump and chase in a game.

Dump Raymond.
Flames were better when he was hurt, despite his hot start.

Raymond has definitely not been as advertised, given the season he came off of in Toronto. Granlund has certainly been a more responsible and dangerous player offensively and he's a rookie. For shame, Mason. Thought you'd be pumped to be coming home to play for your childhood team.

The Ducks must love being able to look at the calendar and mark down an automatic 2 points whenever the Flames come to visit

Whatever, I enjoyed the fact they didn't quit and still pushed back. So you missed out by being a fair-weather fan.

I'll take Byron's 9 minutes over Raymond's 15 minutes any night.

That was a typical honda center game.

I am, and apparently Hartley thought so too, given who he was playing at the end of the game. He was advancing the puck and fighting better in the corners. Made some good passes and had a couple chances.
Look, it wasn't a high bar, but tell me which previous game was better.

I have seen enough of Raymond.
I was open to him at the beginning of the year, but now the sample size has been big enough that I've concluded he's just not a useful player.
The problem is he sees the ice terribly and doesn't use his team mates. He seems like he'd rather take a low percentage shot himself at all times, and any time he does have the wherewithal to pass, he puts it nowhere near a team mate.
That and he's butter soft.
Would really like to see us find a way to get out of his contract. I understand the idea of signing a couple guys like him to take the pressure off the young guys... but after seeing so many of them ready to make the jump it's too bad a spot is essentially tied up by Raymond. He doesn't make anyone around him better and when he's playing poorly more often than not, that's a bad mix.

I thought that Raymond was better at times tonight, but
1) he was -4
2) late in the second, he got the puck in the corner and he spun around and shot wildly. If he had taken just one moment to look (and he had lots of time to do so), he would have seen Backlund alone in the slot with no one within 20 feet of him. 4-2 at the time and if they score there, it could well have been a different game.
Despite my best efforts, I am losing patience with him

I am not sure, but I would hope most of the forum base with Honda cars or considering one will consider selling or not buying.
Raymond definitely had some real strange plays, as described above. Engelland made an error that resulted in a goal.
I don't think I could fault Ortio for the loss. Lot of re-directs, etc. that couldn't have been stopped.

If the Flames can find someone to take him in trade, I think you have to move Raymond. He has been terrible except for the game against the Oilers early in the season.
At the rate he's playing, I think that waivers might be in his future and that's shocking all things considered. Too many players playing better in this organization both on Adirondack and Calgary to waste the roster spot having him playing that poorly. The Flames already sent Setoguchi down to the AHL, and Raymond hasn't been any better than him since the middle of October.

Frustrating to watch the highlights, three of the four goals on Ortio were bad goals because he was screened by the Flames...I know blocking shots is huge but you gotta let Ortio see the shot to make the save. Take those away and we walk away from Anaheim with a win tonight.
