Gaudreau in general gives away the puck far too much but a rookie isn't going have a perfect game. I don't think punishing mistakes makes sense. Punishing a lack of effort or focus does.
Unless you're the goalie, of course. Then you can only play so long as you maintain a perfect record.
I think the problem with Johhny in the first period was focus. He's clearly got his head in the game now. Looks like a completely different player in the second as opposed to the first.
He does need to keep his head up against that chump Jackman though.
It was an extremely premature notion, and the 2nd period showed why.
Deserves to be pointed out.
See my post above.
And many thought the same thing. This thread is for comments on the game and players playing in it. Not everyone is going to agree. Johnny clearly had a brutal first. He's regained his focus in the second. It happened. It also could have been another bad period for him. I personally thought he should have watched most of the first.
Sending Ortio down is a mistake I think, he'll get us to the playoffs. Better rebound control, better on the post, better vision, better save %, better reflexes than Ramo and Hiller.
I'm standing by my prediction. The curse will end tonight.
Sure, it might take an unreal comeback, an overtime winner, or a shootout performance like Hiller had the last time they beat the Ducks, but it's gonna happen. I feel it.
Your word is gospel, second to that of sureLoss of course. To me at least. And Calgary4Life's.

Well they will have loads of time to make a decision on if Joni stays with the Flames or goes back to Addy. I hope he stays up and gets another start but who knows at this point. I would imagine Ramo gets a start after the break as well.

And I strongly disagreed with your point then - and now - and pointed out why. Also what this thread is for.
Once again, he was great in the last game against a very big and tough LA team. Yes, he played poorly to start the first, but young players don't need to be benched every time they have a rough couple of shifts... and the 2nd period showed why.

completely agree but this can't go on much longer (3 goalies) so they need to send him back then work on making room to keep him up.
