He has been all world! So calm, cool and collected. He slows the game down really well when needed to. I know it's really early, but he reminds me a ton of #34.

Look at how much better we are with Backlund. Is he really a 3rd line center? He's looking like a 2nd line shut down center, allowing Monahan to focus on a little more of his offensive game. Really surprised that he could be out for that long and was able to come back in this lineup and not miss a beat.

Speaking of Monahan, 10 of his 14 goals are in the 3rd period (6) and OT (4), that's amazing. Mr. Clutch right there.

Ortio continues to impress. Once again, our rookies are making hard decisions for Treliving.

What justification do you have to send him down? To play a guy whose been sick/injured off and on for 7 weeks and only played 5 games during that time?

Ortio has forced Hartley's hand at this point.
I agree, actually. I don't think at this point you can send him back. I think Ramo gets traded/waived.

I can't believe we won that game. I thought we were sunk after we didn't score on the 4 minute PP.

Flames best win of the season IMO.

Playoff atmosphere, physical, touch checking game, and they stayed with it and won.

Ummm, yeah, the Flames were outplayed most of the second and 3rd periods. They're pretty much hemmed in their own zone for most part of the game. It's only the last 5 minutes of the game after they scored the tying goal and the 3 on 3 in OT that they worked in the offensive zone. Ortio basically bailed the team out. There's no way the Flames can go 7 games against the Kings in a playoff round. But, I'm just stoked that they won!
