They'll throw a slice in during intermission and Monny should be back by the start of the second period...

I have no problem with the hit. Maybe half a second late but that doesn't bug me. Hope Sean is okay though

I'm not as optimistic as other posters with Monahan. I wanted to think he just got jolted/winded, but I'm pretty on the close up replay I saw him immediately look at the bench and point to his shoulder and say something. He also looked to be hanging his right shoulder as he went back to the bench.

If that's the case I'm guessing we lose him for a significant amount of time. I really hope I'm wrong and I realize I'm reading a lot into a little bit of camera time on him, but I'm pretty damn sure his shoulder got ****ed up there and he'll be out.

I hope to god I'm wrong and we see him out there to start the second.

We would, and it would still be late. Might even have to answer to Ferrence hahaha! But it was late, late is measure in milliseconds it's not like Reghr was out head hunting.

Reggie laid the smack down on Monahan. A stiff reminder to our sophmore stud that he is in fact in the NHL. Other than the potential injury to Monahan, I have no issue with that hit. We loved ..LOVED that when Reggie was a Flame.

Ha..I like how they're critiquing Ortio'ss techniques, saying it's strange/unconventional. (yet effective)

Analysts used to say the same things about kipper.

Might have been a half second late. Maybe.
This is exactly how I saw it.

Regardless, hopefully Monahan is ok and then nobody will give it a second thought.

The hit was late for sure, but it wasn't that dirty. Really hoping Monahan is Ok!

Need to see a real time replay, no PVR at the parents.
Because I'm a dork, I rewound to the hit and pulled out my iPhone stopwatch.
Five tests:
0.45; 0.41; 0.40; 0.41; and 0.40.
Regehr hit him 4 tenths of a second after he passed the puck.

His shoulder wasn't drooping though, which is usually the sign of a separation.

Still don't think it was dirty after watching the replay. Not even late compared to a lot of hits you see. Regehr's feet weren't moving and it was shoulder to shoulder - not from behind.

it wasn't a head shot but it was late and dirty. Monahan was woozy because his head got jolted like a whiplash effect.

he really wasn't going to make the hit until he noticed monahan was looki g at his pass it was late for sure the puck left monahans stick at least a second before regehr even started towards him and it looked shoulder to head judging by the gif

Maybe AC could gif that close up replay sportsnet showed of Monahan on the ice so others could judge?

I guess if he comes back in the second it's a moot point.
