If hes not putting pucks in the net then we can get a bigger body to do the same thing.

Boy, Bob is really pissed at the officials tonight. Every time the camera is on him he's ripping somebody a new one.

Yes, in the past, that's likely not a good goal, but they've changed the standard this season. I believe that under the new definition, as long as the player's skate remains on the ice while directing it in, the goal will be allowed.

galley and randorf are horrible - missing so much stuff that is happening on the ice and just rambling about stuff that isnt about the game being played

Yup. He had a strong finish to that period. Guess we can't count on everyone for offense. He showed a lot of jump and was working hard.

Well, they didn't let it get away from them. Hopefully Ortio stands on his head in the third

Nice to see the push back already in the same period.

Colborne line very important so far.

Lombardi averaged (roughly) a goal every 5 games and a point every 2 throughout his NHL career. I wish BYron had an inner Lombardi. Effin' Hatcher.

I like his heart and effort, but he had a bad turnover in the first. When that starts creeping in and he still is ice cold on offense, it's time to sit him for a bit.

Could have had Shore on the wing tonight instead.

Gassing a 2 goal lead sucks but given how bad the first half of that period was, coming out of it tied ain't half bad. Time to shift into 3rd gear.

That was a dirty move by the linesman give SJ an undeserved icing call at the end of the period. That was trash and Hartley let him know it.

But the wording in the NHL rulebook is:

A distinct kicking motion is one which the player propels the puck with his skate into the net.

His foot propels forward, pushing the puck into the net.

Maybe. His speed is still a big asset and he doesn't get pushed around physically. I've always thought he was an extra forward/'tweener though, so I don't expect much more. He should have been sat a few more games this year, that's all.

Kipper is dead on. He missed the puck and while stopping it went off his skate.

Need some of that 3rd period magic again. Hopefully Johnny can find some space and get his game going.

Yes Damien, what we want is players with razors on their feet kicking at the puck in scrambles.
