Against the Canucks the Flames were sloppy and afraid to make a mistake the whole night. Tonight they started much the same way, but as the game went along and Ortio continued to make save after save you could see their confidence come back and by the third the Coyotes didn't have a chance, Flames had everything under control in all 3 zones. It cannot be overstated how important solid goaltending is, a piss poor display like Hiller had against Florida can screw with the rest of team for several games after

IMO they should ride Ortio until the trade deadline and figure out exactly what they have. If he struggles a bit with more workload, then send him back down and develop his game with a good chunk of NHL experience under his belt. But if he stays solid, I think Treliving has to look at trade opportunities for Hiller. If he can get between a 2nd and 4th rounder depending on how desperate some teams might be that would be a pretty good steal for a guy we got for free

True, but it's really from the last PGT. Discussion entirely derailed, somebody didn't like ketchup on their hotdog I think, and we all suddenly cared immensely about this issue.

The woman on TSN is saying Ortio's name weird. I don't like it.

So despite one goalie actually being a successful starter for years and the other having a middling nhl record today notwithstanding the last two games?

David Jones is 1-4-5 and a plus-6 during a 4-game point streak. That equals his career-high, which he last accomplished over four years ago.

Jones' point streak began the night he was headed for the press box when suddenly Hudler was headed to the hospital. Reversal of fortune.

Jones better buy Baby Hudler the best gift ever.

It's only one game, but Shore reminded me of David Moss out there. Big guy, good skater, right handed shot. Hopefully he can bring more offense to the table than Moss did.

Ugly game for the most part, glad they could pull it out in the 3rd. The PP really needs to start working hard instead of just being lazy and coasting at times. You have an extra player out there, you need to outwork the PK and win the puck battles. They need it to get going soon.
