Hilarious that both Messi and Ronaldo didn't have the other on their ballot.

Thibaut Courtois got the Sierra Leone vote!

Djibouti voted for Karim Benzema!

Tahiti voted for Paul Pogba!

The stranger fact is that Hodgson didnt have either of Messi/Ronaldo.

Good old Germans, never fail to disappoint. Struggle to accept that they're not in the race so make it all about themselves!

In a totally non bias pick Schweinsteiger picks Neuer, Lahm and Mueller.
Then Low picks Neuer, Lahm and Schweinsteiger.

Rooney picks Ronaldo as #1 and nada for Messi

Actually there are more picks that do not have both names than do suggesting those that picked really had a favourite and a desire to see their man win as opposed to actually picking a top three.

yeah but to be fair, England is home to arguably the best league in the world and some of the greatest players, so I'd expect the coach of their national team to know a little more about football than his peers from Djibouti and Tahiti

Of course, both Messi and Ronaldo once again decided to ignore each other like jealous teenage girls:

Captain - Argentina - Messi Lionel - 1. Di Maria Angel, 2. Iniesta Andres, 3. Mascherano Javier
Captain - Portugal - Ronaldo Cristiano - 1. Ramos Sergio, 2. Bale Gareth, 3. Benzema Karim

and what the hell did those FIFA guys smoke when they put together the back four of their All World Team of the year? Diego Godin and Jerome Boateng should have made this team easily, plus you could have made a case for Hummels or Alaba too ... yet they went with David Luiz (lol) and Thiago Silva instead. Pathetic.

Luiz is a joke but Silva is probably the best CB in the world. Lahm has been playing midfield a lot over 2014 so him as a defender is a bit of a joke too.

No a coincidence that Brazil's defense went to #### in the game he missed.

The amount of homerism in the picks is pretty laughable though.

Nothing better than an article that gets straight to the point.

yeah it's not like Neuer wasn't a wall or anything all through the world cup and it's not like Germany didn't win it either...

You're actually trying to defend it!

I see their media rep got on on it as well. 9 Votes given to Germany, all 9 votes given to Germans. But that's all fine and dandy because they won the WC therefore by default they must have the top three players on the planet.

It's blatant obvious homerism. A blind man and his dog could see that Messi and Ronaldo were the two best players on the planet last year. To omit BOTH of them is just embarassing.

For my money the fact that Neuer even got nominated for the Ballon d'Or is pretty darn impressive and shows the respect he has earned around the world for his play. He was never going to win, it was Ronaldo's award the whole way this year. Personally, I think Arjen Robben should have been in the final 3 over Neuer or perhaps even Messi, he is criminally underrated

Yeah, don't get me wrong. I think Neuer has dominated in his position and is worthy of a nomination.

It's an obvious Ronaldo/Messi 1-2 and after that you could take your pick and make a good argument for three or four players for third.

I could see leaving Messi off the ballot TBH.

Wasn't a great season for Barca, was underwhelming at the World Cup and was already gifted player of that tournament somehow.

Really though top 3 should have been Ronaldo, Neuer, and Messi.

Yeah I agree, Messi isn't the clear cut number 2 in my opinion. I guess you could make a case that Robben, di Maria or even Godin or Ramos were not that far off ... but yeah, Ronaldo - Neuer - Messi seems fair.

By the way, Lewandowski said to Bild that he had to vote in August. Makes little sense to me to ignore September to December in a "player of the YEAR" voting, but hey, it's Fifa after all ...

Whoa, whoa whoa! Are we talking about the same Roy Hodgson? I think the Manager of Tahiti was my room-service guy from my honeymoon. He really liked my Steven Gerrard jersey, he high-fived me every time I wore it.

Wow.

Schmeichel and Kahn watch the last minutes of and discuss the 99 final. Kahn comes across as very likeable, extremely sporting to sit and listen to Schmeichel and learns about Fergie time.

Part 1.

Part 2

Kahn discusses Fergie trying to sign him.

If I had to choose between Schmeichel and De Gea and Kahn and Neuer I'd give it to the Schmeichel and Kahn. All are great, just seemed like the old guys controlled their area more and had bigger presences
