Ah okay so I think Ortio gets one or two more starts to not rush Ramo and then you send him down. I thought Ramo was going to be out for longer.
Good to see guys like Granlund and Gaurdreau opt to practice. Diaz too as he could use it!

So the goalie dilemma isn't as dire as we originally thought?

The dilemma is more to do with which one of the three goes before or at the end of the season.

Hartley says Ramo is feeling better but not yet medically cleared. Could see him on the upcoming road trip. #Flames

I take it that Ortio will start Thursday then and then be sent down by the following week.

I think he'll play on Thursday and maybe sent down Friday so he can catch the game on Saturday against the Milwaukee Admirals.

If he looks awesome again on Thursday what do you do?

I see this is being discussed at length in another thread.

Still send him down, where he'll still get the starting minutes with Adirondack (without question). I just don't think it's a good idea to have 3 goalies at the same time.

I agree Ortio needs to go back soon but I don't believe you ever - ever mess with a streak. If he plays awesome in Phoenix he stays for the next game. I know it'd be better to send him down feeling good coming off a win but if we're really shooting for a playoff spot - he plays as long as he's winninig.

With 1 extra spot on the roster (Big Ern), are we not able to carry 3 goalies?A big IF but IF Ortio plays stellar next game, then what harm is there in healthy scratching Hiller and dressing Ortio and Ramo?
As long as Ortio is getting playing time while up with the flames, I see no harm. Hopefully it lights a fire under Hiller & Ramo that there is some quality goaltending in this organization and they need to bring his A game every night.

All of a sudden we see Ramo and Hiller playing to not be the goalie traded at the deadline.

For now it's fine, but when Jooris gets back, they'll have to send one of Ortio or Granlund back to Adirondack.
... Someone - whether it's Ramo, Raymond, Bollig, Byron, Hiller, Diaz, Engelland, Smid, or Jones needs to be moved, but not necessarily in a rush or panic before the deadline.

With the way Raymond is playing, and his contract and term, I think he'd easily clear waivers, if they REALLY wanted to keep 3 goalies up.

The way I look at it when Jooris comes back, Granlund will be a healthy scratch so no point keeping him up. We'll still have vets Jones, Bollig and Raymond to move in and out of the line up.

No way, some team will take on Raymond. It's only 2 and a half years of 3m for a 3rd liner. Pretty sure some team would take him.

Isn't Ortio an emergency call-up. It means once the player he replaced in the lineup gets healthy again, he goes back. Not a 100% for sure on this one.
I would love to see Ortio play again if he plays well against Arizona but we can't have him sitting in the press box later on when Hiller and Ramo are both healthy. He can go back to Adirondack in time for the All Star game too.

No one. Give him his taste of pro hockey in Adirondack for a conditioning stint and then send him back to Kingston. Zero need to put him in the NHL right after coming off surgery.
