I just had a job interview in Winnipeg a few weeks ago. Hadn't been there since the late 90's.

I thought it was alright then, and is even nicer now.

I like Winnipeg.

Winnipeg is nice in small doses. But it tends to get the worst of summer and the worst of winter without the breaks in weather we get.

Hating Winnipeg is like hating Martin Short. Annoying? Okay, sure. Hate? That's a bit strong.

Just like the Flames knew the only way they would get out of their division was to beat the Oilers, the Jets knew they couldn't get anywhere without knocking out the Flames.

I completely agree about the Winnipeg winters. No much to do except watch hockey, go to a social, or cross country ski. However for 4 months or so, especially in the summer, it's a great place to be. There are cabins and lakes in all directions within an hour drive, there are festivals and concerts always going on in the city, and you have areas like little Italy, the Village, the Forks, and the Exchange District to hang out at.

Winters are horrible, but summers are very underrated.

Winnipeg in winter

Winnipeg/Manitoba in summer.

You'll treat it with a bit of god damn capitalization first however.

Part of being a good Calgarian is learning to hate the Oilers, Canucks, Riders, Jets, Leafs and Habs. Each are worthy of their own "No Good" thread.

Wow, that's classy. You make the same kind of comments about Darryl Sutter's son a few years back?

Your attitude and that comment are what's sad.

The only two other Canadian teams I 'sort of' root for are in fact Winnipeg and Ottawa. Ottawa because there really isn't much of a history there against the Flames, and the fact that they seem like the underdogs in the media against Montreal and Toronto. Playing them only twice a year leaves little in the way of any sort of rivalry. I also don't think they are building themselves anywhere close to that of a contender.

Winnipeg because they have yet to really become a rival in any way, and in my opinion, their slate was wiped clean when they lost their team. I am sure I will start to hate Winnipeg in the coming years, however. I do think they will become a very good team. Add another couple of years' worth of playing against one another, I am bound to start hating them as I do think a bit of rivalry is bound to happen, even though they are not in the Flames' division (though perhaps battling them for playoff spots/playoff positions in the future will enhance the rivalry). I do think they will be one of the teams to beat in the west in the next few years.

Wow.

It's sad to see a big Jets fan that has a mental disability, hoping to bring joy to sports fans by dancing and getting the crowd into the game. Do you think Joey Moss helping the Oilers on the bench is "sad" too?

Not cool at all..

I think you're missing the point of this! Being serious all the time sounds awesome, but let your hair out a little.
