Folks, I was exposed to this Ketchup at Turner Valley golf course, and once you use it, you'll never go back to Heinz. Can be tough to find, but Co-Op usually carries it. You want the glass bottle version.
Just back from the game!
Haven't read any game thread or post game thread stuff to taint my opinion yet so here are some random takes from me:
- backlund and Johnny look pretty good together so far. Not sure what jones was doing on that line but looks like similar chemistry for Johnny and mikael as Johnny and hudler
- bouma had a ton of good hits, thought he played well
- thought that both granlund and Wideman were terrible tonight. Making bad decisions constantly and fanning on the puck a lot
- Ortio was obviously awesome. Some luck but about 10 mins into the third I was wondering if it was destined to be (it was)
- don't know what happened to Smid but I'm sure I'll read about it soon
- my sister who knows nothing about the flames and hockey said 'Calgary is really good at sacrificing their bodies' I said yup #1 in nhl
- overall very exciting and nerve wracking game for a 1-0 and we definitely didn't deserve to win but there were a lot of dejected Canucks fans there and I will take the W and run!

What a great game to be at. I can't remember the last game in Vancouver where Calgary won. Seahawks fans are as annoying as canucks fans. Most are both and are doubly annoying.

Mostly bandwagoners too.
There's something about that area of the world and being fairweather fans. Not sure what. Maybe something in the water.

It's not so vinegary like heinz, and tastes way more natural. It's a little lumpy, not a shiny, perfect silicone like constancy like heinz. It also a more natural darker red. More tart, and less sweet. It's really good stuff, and Canadian ta boot.
I've converted quite a few people.

Maybe not as much fructose (corn syrup) - Heinz is full of that stuff!
Backlund - I think you almost have to include him in the 'core' moving forward. Great attitude, awesome defensively, non-stop motor (seriously, does he ever stop skating hard at any point during a game?), and he DOES have offence. I think the Flames really missed him this year (especially the PK), and he really does a great job solidifying the lineup.
I like Gaudreau with Backlund. I think they compliment their respective games - especially their skating ability. I think Hudler should be kept with Monahan for a little while to help spark his offence again (though really, I just think Monahan is just barely snakebitten - he has a great shot and has had great chances, just haven't gone in).
Really sweet to beat the Nucks in their rink... finally! Though there were defensive breakdowns, it was reassuring to see the Flames win a game 1-0. Good teams win these close games, mediocre to bad teams lose the 6-5 games. Nice to see the quick turnaround, especially on a back-to-back.
As for Wideman - bet he takes a maintenance day. He didn't look the same after that shot. They were commenting on it during the game, and I think they were right. The way he seemed to have a tougher time turning was very noticeable. For all the flack Wideman takes, I would seriously hate to see Smid, Engelland or Diaz bumped to the 2nd pairing.
Nice try by Granlund doing the 'Sedin' - holding a stick and wrapping it around his body. The Sedins were the masters of that cheap move, and Bouwmeester was a victim on more than one occasion. Hopefully he doesn't try that again - it is just so 'Canuck' to do it.
Lastly - screw Burrows. Guy is a <Roger Millions' expletive>. Hope Giordano pounds on him next game. Guy continues to be a someone you just enjoy watching taking a beating.
Also, every game I don't hear them call, I appreciate Ball and Hrudey more. Randorf should be doing regional games at best, in addition to seemingly want teams behind to come back and slanting the commentary that way.
I thought it was Paul Romanuk. Still sub par compared to our guys either
way!

If Wideman was hurt enough to miss a game or two, I'd bet that Wotherspoon will get called up to take his spot rather than bumping up any of the bottom 3.
