Kinda how I feel as well, but I think Shore may only be a 3rd liner in the NHL, but with better skills and hockey IQ than Knight. I think it would be a stretch to consider Shore for the top 2 lines unless a lot of our prospects totally fail. Might also be interesting to see him on the right wing.

I'm glad for the upgrade to the depth chart but I was hoping for a trade for a RH D from our stockpile of C/LW.

I need to say these things because I feel like it's erroneous to keep looking down our noses at the Panthers. They will be a Stanley Cup contender before the Oilers or Sabres get anywhere close to it.
Any team that could potentially be moved is lame duck. They may not suck on the ice, but its not the world's most desirable destination.

Gotcha. Sorry.

Knight is nowhere near the level of Barkov and Bjugstad, but there's nothing stopping him from playing on the 4th line. Right now Derek MacKenzie is in that spot, and while he's decent at his job, he's replaceable. Bolland will be there on the 3rd line for quite a while, so that's out.

But the problem becomes the fact that he's now also behind Trocheck, Grimaldi (although I don't consider him a true NHL center), and Hawryluk.

Drew Shore > Corban Knight.

And it's not even close.

Could it be that Jooris is out long term?

"I think I've really started to hit my stride ... It's obviously a great core (in CGY) & I hope I can add to it." - Drew Shore

"I had a great time with him in Denver." - Drew Shore, who played with Joe Colborne at the University of Denver

Corey Pronman ‏@coreypronman 13m13 minutes ago Knight is a former FLA prospect. Has seen some spot NHL duty and has been a good AHLer. As of now, Shore is the better player.

Corey Pronman ‏@coreypronman 7m7 minutes ago Drew Shore has been a top AHLer this year. Reasonable to project him as a potential bottom six forward who can chip in offensively.

I'm all for getting more upside (I don't know anything about the guy so I'm going by you guys here) and frankly Knight never really impressed me for anything other than his faceoff prowess.

That being said, if Shore was buried on the depth chart in Florida, what makes his situation any different here? Can he play wing (RW) as well?

Mixed feelings. One of the reasons that I finally made an account was in order to post a picture of Roger Dorn of the Cleveland Indians when Knight was brought up, in order to claim that he 'activated himself'.

Shore potentially lines up on the right side as a right handed shot.

Yeah, really like this trade for the Flames, and I liked Knight. Will Shore be with the Flames or in Adirondack?

So is he headed to Adirondak or to CGY? Seems like he could be a good player to transition to RW. Does he slot ahead of Jones?

EA Sports would agree with you on that one.

Shore = 80 OVR
Knight = 77 OVR

That settles it for me. HUGE win for Treliving.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie 37s37 seconds ago For now, anyway, Corban Knight and Drew Shore will be reporting to their new respective AHL teams in San Antonio and Adirondack.

If Shore plays 1 more NHL game, he requires waivers to go to AHL. CGY feels Shore may be a potential 3rd line C with some offensive upside.

If thats where they think he is now, great! He'll get a few games under Huska to get familiar with systems and then proceed to get the call up?

Florida fans are saying he's 100% NHL ready. They are pissed.

Tallon said he wanted to do shore a solid by sending him to a team where he could strive. Did Calgary a solid too I guess!

That is pretty good news, sound like we could win this trade if he I ready now. I wonder if we see Granlund sent down after tonight's game and he comes to Calgary.
