Yeah, I assume you mean how early you can show up at the airport and check your bags? In that case I do believe Steely is right.

Sounds right. I was in PHX a couple of years ago, and I had flown WestJet.

I went to the airport about 4 hours early cause I had nothing better to do, and the WS counter was closed. It opened 3 hours before departure.

Yup, crazy strong winds from the West the last couple of days. Actually caused one Ottawa-Vancouver flight to stop here last night for fuel.

American Airlines first 787. The grey still feels too flat for my taste. I am sure they could have picked a shiner grey that worked on composites.

My ticket is booked Las Vegas to Halifax, it's an 18.5 hour layover in Vancouver. So after I clear customs would WestJet take my luggage, or would I still have to wait until 3 hours before departure?

Secondarily, I have a 2 hour layover in Calgary (yay) before my flight connects to Edmonton (boo). Would I have time to leave the secure area, visit the glorious Flames Fan Attic store and clear security again?

That's quite the routing.

I'm not sure about your luggage during the layover in YVR, I think you may need to keep it with you. Worth an ask though.

During your 2 hour stop in YYC, you should have time to check out the fanattic. Just before you leave the Westjet wing make sure there isn't crazy lines for security, but I doubt it.

It shouldn't be a problem.

A pretty much brand-freaking new A332 as well. Only 3 months old. Some more pictures in this link:

Going in to land now? Looks like he circled 3-4 times and is heading to Heathrow now.

Yup, FlightRadar24 just tweeted it was a "technical fault with one of the engines".

Yes it is, according to an article from the Independent in the UK the flight also had 213 passengers on board. The BA 787's seat 214, that is one nice full flight. Perhaps BA can make a go of YYC still?

Despite this being a 787, keep in mind that if it was an engine fault that would be a Rolls Royce issue in this case (BA has their Trent 1000 engines on the 787).

I believe there is a bag check between the Westjet baggage area and the escalators to the train. Not 100% sure though.

If this thread has taught me one thing, its that the punchline of all avgeek instrumentation/radar photo jokes is related to groundspeed.
