JP Parise's health continues to flag, Zach struggling
I lost my dad to cancer a year and a half ago. Our thing was hockey. But, neither of us is anything approaching a NHLer. Zach's comments about not getting any kind of break at the rink, because hockey was his and his dad's thing..are gut-wrenching.

It's incredibly cruel what Cancer does to a person and the family unit. Went through it when my father passed on from Colon Cancer. It consumes you and you find it difficult to focus on the daily activities of your life.
My heart goes out to Zach, his dad and the rest of the family.

The photo in the article is a great moment for the two of them - it's the goal Zach scored to go ahead of his dad on the all-time scoring list. Tough story to hear. Hope everyone makes it through ok.

Until recently, Parisé was the hockey director at Shattuck-St. Mary’s School. Under Parisé’s tutelage, the school that managed to produce future hockey stars such as Sidney Crosby, Jonathan Toews, Kyle Okposo and Jack Johnson.
“We were at the school…and I would interview all the kids who came there, including Jonathan Toews and Sidney Crosby and those guys, and I would say, ‘If you’re going to come to Shattuck, there are three things that have to be in line: You have to work hard in school; you have to work hard on the ice; and you’ve got to be a good guy. All three. If one is missing, I don’t want you,’” explained Parisé. “So they all got that same message, and if you look at the kids who are playing the National Hockey League, who went to Shattuck-St. Mary’s, they’re all good, solid guys.”

Took my mom and numerous uncles, aunts and others. might seem crazy but I'm starting to think it's actually a part of life (or really the end of life) and it can't be stopped or reasoned with.
I will swear with you though in saying #### you cancer.
