Thats a shame. He has a great name.

I think Edmonton won this one. A first and a player? Just in terms of salary and age this works well for them.

I cant believe Pitt paid that much for Perron. Are Rutherford and I thinking of the same guy?

Total panic move by the Oilers after they got points in back to back games.

Begs the question of what Glencross could get if the Flames decided to trade him. Glencross is, IMO, more of a complete player, but is a pending UFA where Perron has a year left on his deal.

I think the most impressive thing about this was Reggie finally beat the machine.

Sets a high price for Glencross, should Treliving decide to move him between now and the deadline.

It's actually an ok deal for Edmonton, shocking. If someone offered us a first rounder for our older centreman we'd probably have to take it.

Darn. I would've given up Glencross and a 2nd rounder for the Pens first rounder. Would probably be moving up only ~20 spots but I would've been happy with a trade like that.

Lol finally put a couple of decent games together, get scared that they might actually win a few and they re-envoke operation oil tank. I hate them, and i hope this results in them being reprimanded from the league at some stage. I actually hope the league stays quiet and lets them carry on their shenanigans and then wacks their peepee at the end of the year.

Pathetic organization. They should have to forfeit their first pick for intentional tanking.. The NHL is already changing the drafting rules because of these losers and they're still tanking like its been their goal all along.

28 goals last year and still has a year left on his contract, so not a pure rental. His shooting percentage this year has been abnormally low. If the Penguins can turn Blake Comeau into a threat, they can bring Perron back from the dead.

William DePaoli @TIOPS_DePaoli
Penguins looked into Perron in early November, the ask was Brandon Sutter. Two months later get him for a first round pick. That's value.

This works for both sides, IMO. Perron fits well with the style of Pittsburgh and the Eastern conference, and Edmonton gets a first round pick and some defensive depth.

EDIT: Whoops. Thought Klinkhammer was a D-man. Still good value for the pick.

A (late) Christmas miracle for Perron. As to the pick, who cares? We know the Oilers are gonna piss it away.

1st round pick and a roster player that plays center for Perron?

I don't think they should have traded him, but dare I say that's a pretty good return for MacT?

And the best name in hockey to boot.

Perron will probably flourish in Pitt though.

Also, this stands as a nice shot across the bow for the other Oilers. Don't you even THINK about playing well. This tank will not be stopped.

With glencross being a pure rental, I don't think it changes his value. Probably looking at a 2nd for glencross. Granted I doubt glencross or management even talk trade this year.
