I thought Bollig had a very nice game out there. Was physical and his line created a few chances. He did his job after Aulie's hit as far as I'm concerned, he wanted a piece of him but the refs corralled everything pretty well. I also want Stajan to stick around in Calgary for a long while, exactly the type of player to teach the young guys. Him getting up after he got clobbered and throwing a few punches at Aulie is the type of attitude this team needs to develop

Was at the game. Really good atmosphere. Thought we showed great heart to come back and win it (as usual)
Really liked seeing Stajan pull himself off the ice after that hit and go hunting for Aulie. Good for Stajan and I think it have us some life.
Happy New Year!!

Stajan is one of the tougher players. He has taken quit a few bad hits and gets back up. He doesn't play the rough and tough game but is tough.

Honestly, that game could have been about 12-4 for the good guys. We have to learn how to hit the net! Scrivens was also quite good.
Awesome comeback. Happy new year everyone! All hail Colborne!

Jooris coments on the win...
Quote:
And while cooling his heels in stir, Jooris hadn’t been daydreaming.
First of all, he was driving the penalty-box attendant bonkers with his nervous banter. (“I talk a lot and the guy beside me was getting an earful.”) But the Flames rookie was also contemplating his emergence.
Because Jooris knew.
He or Petry was going to get the head start into the attack.
“I was just hoping that we’d keep it in their zone or have possession of the puck when we came out of the box,” said Jooris, “because either Petry has 15 feet on me or I have 15 feet on him.
“I’m thinking, ‘What am I going to do if I get the puck?’ “
|
Quote:
Where does this goal fit into his scrapbook? Biggest?
“It’s up there, for sure,” said Jooris. “I kind of live in the present, so right now it’s the biggest one.”
|
Quote:
“I think we felt good all night,” said Jooris. “Each intermission … we had a good feeling in this dressing room. No one was down. It wasn’t quiet in here. We were upbeat and we had positive energy around the room.
“We didn’t think we were going to lose this game. The fact that we battled back again shows the resilience of this squad. We never had a doubt in our minds tonight.”

Thanks to the new rules and the long change...both for Jooris being able to jump in right out of the box, and for the incredibly atrocious change by two Oilers, including Captain Ference, when the Flames had possession.
Left Hall as the defender on the 2 on 1.
The best of 2015 to CP.

It's kind of ironic because he has a deserved reputation for being a soft player, but this is true. He's soft because he really just doesn't have the physical strength or power to play a real physical game but yeah, he can really tough out some devastating hits and cheapshots despite that.

Not only was Hall the one trapped in the zone on the 2-on-1, but Nugget was the first one into the zone coming back, so there were 4 forwards (2 Flames, 2 Oilers) closer to Scrivens when the puck went in than any Oiler d-man.
