Wow the Czechs finally woke up. This will be a great win for them. I thought going into this tournament they had medal game potential and they're proving it tonight. With Vrana, Zacha, Pastrnak they could do some damage to a shaky powerhouse.

Makes our win so much more important. Even on a down year for the Russians, I'd rather play Denmark.

			Czechia wins it 4-1.
Canada will play Denmark in the quarterfinals, then the winner of the Czech-Slovak QF in the semifinal.

Is that too soft a route to the finals, kind of worries me, and also assures I won't be watching another team Canada game until the final, kind of boring.

Perhaps the easiest road to the finals ever. They earned it but wow things worked out perfectly for Canada.
Should be a guaranteed silver this year and short of gold would be a massive fail.

Not really. The Czechs will provide stiff opposition in the semis.

Would be wild if Finland got relegated one year after winning gold.

And then either hosts next years tournament and doesn't play in it, or has to defer hosting the tournament to another year.

Utter embarrassment.

I have this sneaking suspicion this will happen. They're far too good for the record they have. They're going to rope-a-dope this tournament.

Didn't say they would. Just what the implications would be if they did.

It's misleading at a glance. They lost to USA in a game that could have gone either way, they lost to Canada as expected. The only unexpected thing was that they couldn't score on Slovakia for whatever reason despite dominating.

So they have no wins and now they go against the weakest team in the group in their final game. That's tournament hockey. The one thing that's against Finland right now is their terrible PP but roster is actually pretty good.

Yeah, some of these teams are just rounding into form before turning it on. No teams can be taken for granted especially the ones with a long and strong hockey background.
