That's good! Can't wait for him to come back and strengthen the top 6. Jooris and Granlund have done a decent job so far though.
It will take him a few games to get back to the level he had left off at.

For me one of Jooris, Granlund or Byron gets bumped. Tough choice.

I agree but that's tough for Granlund.
I wonder if Backlund gets slotted between Hudler and Gaudreau. Probably not. Colborne I don't think is a good fit either.
I think there's a possibility that we see Backlund moved between Glen and Jones as the shut down line and Monahan centering Johnny and Hudler:
Glennie-Backlund-Mad Bones Jones
Gaudreau-Monahan-Hudler
Raymond-Colborne-Byron
Bollig/Stajan/Bouma/Jooris

I know it's tough for Granlund, but he is better off playing top 6 minutes in Adorondack since he was being given top 6 minutes up here. Jooris is confirmed to stay and it doesn't make sense for Byron to be sent down when he just plays bottom 6 minute here.

i actually think jooris should be the one sent down.
Granlund has been very servicable and i believe can play the wing.

I also think Granlund will be sent back when Backlund is back. No reason for him to feel bad about that, he has established himself as an NHL ready player facing a backlog. I'm sure management will ensure him that s long as he keeps working and playing the way he is, he will likely have full time spot in the very near future.

Still tons of time for David Jones to get injured so I won't worry about who goes down yet.

And Jooris hasn't? He's better at FO's than Granlund, and can play RW as well. Bonus that he is a right handed shot.

Maybe McGrattan is waived/sent down and then Jooris & Granlund both stay with Bollig & Byron in the press box.

And maybe pigs fly :P
Jooris and Granlund have played well, but not well enough to convince Treleving and Burke to do that.

I like this line up. I thought Stajan solidified that bottom line so they are not so much of a train wreck (Bollig has been better). Similarly, Colborne looked decent between Byron and Raymond. They will need some time together to gel, but the speed on the wings will be terrific. Tough to remove Granlund, but Monahan needs a boost. Finally Glenx/Jones/Backlund should be solid, if not spectacular. Take some tough minutes, and hopefully hold their own.

If it is Jooris that is sent down, he might wonder where the security in being told to "find a place to live" is.

Pretty sure Jooris won't be getting sent down. He can play bottom 6 whereas Granlund is best served on the top 6 either here or in Addy. With Backlund returning Granlund loses his top 6 spot here even though he's played well.

I think Granlund is likely to be sent down unless a roster move is made. It's not what's best for the team but it's the default roster move.
The weakest links in the starting lineup right now are Raymond and Bollig. But those guys are not going to be traded or waived. It could be time to waive McGrattan though. I don't see it as a high-risk move to waive him. Seems better for the club than sending down a very useful player in Granlund (or Jooris).

Granlund has been perfectly fine in the bottom 6 this season.
Without making predictions about who goes where, I think Hartley values what Granlund brings more than some posters here.

Flames once told Roman Horak to get a place and then sent him down two or three times during the year.
I believe sureloss posted something that its more tied to time being up in the NHL and the fact the NHL team will have to pay for accommodations if they player is sent down rather than the grand statement it is often assumed to be.

Yeah, there is a reason that Hartley avoids commenting on that scenario. I think it's a league rule that a player has to have a full time residence in the city after 30 days with the team or something.
I think the team is supposed to pay their rent in the even they get sent down (I could be wrong about that though).
Speaking of which, where is Bennett staying through all of this? It wouldn't surprise me if he was sleeping on a bench in the weight room.
"We can get you a hotel room , Sam"
"I'm good here coach. Closer to the action. Can you plug in my Flames nightlight when you leave? Thanks!"

Still liking this configuration, though it seems Colborne is more comfortable at center. If he stays at center, my alternate configuration is:
Glencross-Monahan-Jones
Raymond-Colborne-Jooris
Gaudreau-Backlund-Hudler
Bouma-Stajan-Byron
Pressbox: Bollig, McGrattan
Returned to AHL: Setoguchi, Reinhart, Ferland, Baertschi, Granlund
Really want to keep a spot for Granlund somehow though. He maybe stays in instead of Stajan, but I don't like Granlund in a fourth line role either.
