You both missed the point. The caller was absolutely correct!

All Calgary Pucker's should follow this example. Hey everyone in Edmonton, everything's fine, stay the course, and the only way to bust this slump is to give Hallsy the 'C'!

I have been to a few BOA games in calgary over the last few years but last night was different. I feel like there were less oilers fans in the crowd and the ones that were there knew their team was going to lose.
It was a very fun game to be at. They played Johnny be good after his first goal and the place exploded, the song wasn't even over it seemed before he scored his second. They might have to create a loop of that song for years to come!
I love this team. They are so fun to watch.

Such an awesome game. Everything went well.
The head coach being a game time decision, the two Oilers D losing their sticks at the same time, an Oiler jersey on the ice. Picture perfect BOA night. Can't wipe this smile off my face.

Chasing an Oilers goalie always feels good.
Gaudreau.... just amazing how he finds those holes and exploits them. I literally laughed out loud both time he scored.
Stajan with a beautiful assist on the Glencross goal.
It's just amazing how bad the Oilers are right now.

I wasn't able to watch the game last night as I was driving home from a Christmas vacation. What did Ference do to tick everybody off?

The vibe was definitely a bit different than other BOA games I've been at as well. The Oilers fans were quieter and fewer in numbers, which was nice. Plus, after a relatively uneventful first few minutes, the Flames just finished it off in a couple of minutes, and then just skated around and let Edmonton embarrass themselves for the rest of the night. "Satisfying" is a fitting description.
My brother-in-law, was stranded in Revelstoke for the night with my sister and nieces due to the highway closure, texted me right when the jersey was getting tossed:
"How are the insufferable Oilers fans? Getting drunk and picking fights?"
"Surprisingly not, but someone JUST threw their jersey on the ice. No joke."
"Awesome."

Compare that to Hartley pulling the goalie minutes early in hopeless games and scoring two goals not once but twice. Rolling over vs. never giving up

Always enjoyed watching the Flames beat the Coilers no matter what the score was. I thought we are going to start changing Johnny Gaudreau's nickname from Johnny Hockey to Johnny Hat-Trick. That would sure ticked Glen Healy even more hahaha!!
Man, that Coiler team is just plain awful. Bad goaltender(although I cannot really blame Fasth a 100% fault on all 3 goals he gave up but he was still awful). Bad defense : Justin Schultz shouldn't be playing in the NHL the way he played last night. He was brutal and always seems to be out of position. Bad overall team : Nobody really cares what is going on with the other players on the ice. One example: usually when a defenseman loses his stick, a forward will hand his stick to that defenseman right away. Two defensemen loses their stick not one forward give his stick to one defenseman. Hendricks was the closest to one D and he just ignores him. Luckily for them the Flames did not score on that series. Their star player Taylor Hall I seen cruising in the middle of the ice lots of times instead of forechecking. Difference, when Flames player loses the puck they have one or two players forechecking. When Oilers loses the puck they just let the Flames player advanced the puck. What did Taylor Hall do that he received a misconduct penalty? Leadership in this team seems to dissappear. I thought the Oilers uses their speed in some occassions and made the Flames run around BUT the problem was instead of taking advantage of it and shooting the puck on goal, they were making some fancy and cute passes. I think their best player last night was Nail Yakupov who can't even score but he had a few good shots. I think Yakupov will do well somewhere other than the NHL.. actually I guarantee he'll get his confidence back and score more if he plays for the Eastern team. Leon Draisaitl looks like he shouldn't be playing in the NHL right now. He is slow to react and he would been better staying in Prince Albert another season. Andrew Ference I think will lose his captaincy on a power struggle with Taylor Hall. I hate to say this but the way this morons run this team, they would rather keep Hall than trading him.
Anyways, I love the win and hope it continues.

Watching Draisaitl on the ice reminded me a lot of Kevin Westgarth.

I had to laugh, I came home and watched the recorded game, and they were talking about Nelson as a gametime decision all I could think was is Mac-T panicking because the loss would end up on his record and he'd have to do the post game press availability.
Frankly, yes you can blame management for putting together a team with very little depth and talent and the talent they have being the wrong type of talent.
But the players and especially the star players are lazy and have little fight to them and that's on the players.
If its true that the so called Oiler stars snubbed the Oiler's younger fans at their skills competition, well its amazing that their so called captain doesn't blow a gasket and start throwing punches in the dressing room.

I dont get a chance to go to games very often but we made the trip to Calgary to take in the BOA. And it did not disappoint.
A friend of mine from home (Oilers fan) messaged me that his "Give a ###### meter" was off. I replied, I think your team's "Give a ###### meter" was off as well.
Talk about an uninspired hockey team. No heart, no desire, no nothing. Poor Draisatl. I honestly feel sorry for the young guy. As I mentioned in another thread, the classy thing to do would have been to loan him to Germanys Jr. team and get him the hell away from that disaster of a hockey team.
Anyhow, it was awesome being in the Dome again. I realized how much more fun it is when you are live and in person. My kids loved it and even my wife (An Oilers fan) enjoyed herself. Great atmosphere, great crowd. The home team won! All sorts of awesome!
