Yes they do. Look up Adventure Game Studio on google. Or visit. www.barnettcollege.com
Adventure Games are now made by fans of Adventure Games and for free. In some cases even more professional than the originals.

It really depends how much time at once you want to spend playing games.
If its hour+ then Civ2/3 is the game.
It its say, 10-15+ plus between when you boss walks by, Lemmings, Pirates, are both good games.

I LOVED that game. Had the whole series, but loved X-Wing.
One of my old favourites was Interstate 76. I wanted to try Interstate 82, but never got a chance to.

Mame emulates real arcade games you can play right on your computer..
the best part is is that their not just a cheap imitation..but the real arcade game..would I be allowed to give out the link to the best Mame emulator?

Probably, since it is simply and emulator legal to distribute. Don't link to any ROMs though (unless they can be freely distributed - I know there are some of those)

Ahh, the good old days of bringing Scorched Earth to school on a floppy and playing with friends.
I also recommend Wolfenstein 3D, Lemmings, Conan and The Incredible Machine.
