Since both teams are in contention for a wild card spot, that could turn out to be a huge point

Some surprisingly clutch plays from guys like Derek McKenzie and Dylan Olsen to keep the shootout alive. Panthers still don't score a lot, but they're right there in the mix of playoff teams.

I heard it went 20 rounds, but hadn't seen it. Doesn't look like many people left as it stretched on - and the building has probably never been so loud. Neat.

Christ. Bring on 3 on 3 if it prevents nonsense like that from ever happening again.
Hell, give me 2 on 2 instead...

So they ended it like every peewee practice ever?
Coach 'Shootout time...everybody shoots'
I was disappointed that the backup tenders didnt get to shoot before they started using guys over again.

If I'm at the rink I dont leave, but if I'm watching that on TV there is no way I sit there through 20 rounds of shootout. Gross.

Watched that last night.
I've adapted to the shootout to the extent that I actually like it for non-Flames games as it just means more hockey.
But when it goes on for 25 minutes it's actually really tedious and repetitive. By about shooter 24 I just wanted the damned thing to end already. Proof that the shootout is a better gimmick than spectacle.

This is off topic and maybe I'm just an idiot but what does ICYMI in the title of the thread mean?

"In case you missed it".
And anyone who thinks a shootout is fun has a pretty terrible definition of fun.

Barkov should take tips from Orpik on how to deke out a goalie.

Come on man, I'm not a big shootout guy either, but that shootout was awesome. Give it a watch and lighten up.

Yeah, he's not that good but I have to admit that was a sweet move.

Barkov is going through a serious sophomore slump. 2 goals and 4 points in 20 games and is a -6. Really having a tough time this year after an impressive, albeit injury shortened, rookie year.

Ehh. If I'm going to spend 20 minutes watching hockey highlights, it is going to be 20 minutes of hockey highlights.

I'd rather see 3-on-3 then 2-on-2... like the NHL 2 on 2 Open Ice Challenge arcade game.
