I have a fuzzy memory of a poster on here being a big supporter of the Wildrose, but can't recall who?

I was just kidding. I am a Wildrose Supporter.
I wear slip on shoes, but I think it would be a good idea to confiscate my belt.

I don't think she's ever been acquainted with personal integrity.
Prentice should receive major backlash if he appoints her deputy premier. That's sheer idiocy. The only thing she should be doing at the Leg is cleaning up all the #### she's flung. It must be making for a slippery floor crossing.

If there's one thing I have no doubt about, it's that Prentice knows exactly what he's doing and won't be feeling any backlash for it.

I don't know about that, it sounds like many within party ranks (Some MLAs, many Presidents and CA volunteers) are not going to be happy with this. Can't imagine what it must be like to be a part of the Association for High River or Airdrie after years of fighting Danielle Smith and Rob Anderson you suddenly have to pretend all is good and let them take a spot from a Candidate that you've been courting for a few weeks.
Plus it's not like people in High River are going to be over the top with their golden child abandoning their party to join the enemy. You're essentially forced to champion to your neighbours while door knocking a Candidate that you have been campaigning against for 5 years?

Just as long as it lines up with my daydream fantasy of telling her to do a runner, it will be fantastic and he will be a King amongst men. </joking>

I think it is less that he knows what he is doing, and more than he is the shiny new toy in provincial politics that everyone likes right now. Prentice's own personal popularity is what will mute any backlash.

In what will be remembered as one of the greatest acts of betrayal in Canadian political history, the leader of Alberta’s Official Opposition appears poised to quit on her party and join ranks with the provincial government. And Danielle Smith hopes to take a chunk of her ever-shrinking caucus with her.
As an act of political subterfuge in the modern times of this country, it is without equal. The utter implosion of a provincial opposition party in a matter of mere months may be unprecedented, as well.
Now it appears the party is destined to join the list of political protest vehicles that were relevant for a time, but eventually lost their way and became extinct.

What other choice does D Smith have? If she wants to have any sort of future in Politics she has the use the analogy "if you can't beat them, join them" type of approach. She is going to try to put a positive spin on things and say stuff like they share the same philosophies and directions that Alberta should go in etc. etc. but at the end of the day, she needs to put in her time as a PC, prove her worth and hope to land a Minister or Deputy Minister type of appointment after the next election. Her side kick out of Airdrie (who once parked in Allison Redford's parking spot and then played dumb) has to do the same.

So Smith bad mouths the PC party for years and now is leaving her own party to join them? This is the reason I stopped following politics years ago. Say one thing, do another, keep a job over all else. It's like an abusive relationship.

This is so true... Prentice has this in spades. Its funny how yesterday he referred to Cory Morgan as a Machiavellian political operative, the first thing that came to my mind is.... why is he comparing Cory Morgan to himself?

I think you have it the other way.
Morgan was saying Prentice was machiavellian.
