I did my first run of Crota last night, that's some crazy stuff. I bailed on my group at Crota because I was too tired, but I now have the checkpoint at him.

You should help me and my buddy -- we've both just hit 28 and are ready to give the Vault of Glass a try but don't know a lot of people. I hyped you up as the 'high level guy from CP that knows it inside out'

Steve may disagree but I personally believe level 28 is too low for the VoG Raid. My personal recommendation is to be 29 and having at least two 30's in the group for a normal run. For VoG hard mode you really need to be level 30 yourself or join four or five other 30's to have a true shot but again that's just my opinion, Steve is definitely the resident Destiny expert

I haven't tried a fresh Dark Below raid but I did join a group for a shot at Crota last night and it was awesome. The overseer, Challis, ogres and sword bearer were all amazing and the guys I were with had already figured out a few tricks including the ability to regenerate your health back. We came close twice but then the group fell apart, my hope is too be level 31 by the end of the week and try again on the weekend.

28 is fine for the normal version, I agree 30 is needed for the hard mode, unless you're experienced an have maxed weapons, then 29 is doable.

The normal run is only lvl 26, so 28 is totally doable. I'd be happy to run it wit you folks, I'm typically usually on on weekend nights as I travel for work most o the week.

Can definitely agree that being 28 for Vault of Glass is ideal as being any higher won't make any major difference. Definitely would be interested in helping Stryker as well so send me an invite anytime this comes around.

29 for VoG is totally doable (we've done it with a bunch of 28-29s on normal). If you have max weapons, then 29 VoG is a breeze.

......right so like i said, level 28 is perfectly fine for VoG

I guess I'm just not very good at the game, lol but i found i huge difference from level 28 to 29 when having to kill Praetorians and Oracle's in the raid. Now VoG on normal is the most fun i can have playing Destiny, its a blast.

HOLLY SNICKER-DOODLE.....I was on the moon in the process of completing my patrol bounty when a Blades of Crota Knight sorta suddenly appeared from around a corner and after I killed him, a white square emblem appeared on the right of my screen so i checked my inventory and it was the Husk of the Pit auto rifle!

Just beat Crota! Spent 5 hours last night JUST on him and couldn't beat him. Was so chapped. So we tried again today, Lamp Run and Bridge were fine. Deathsinger took a while, but one guy clutched it and killed her when the other 5 of us were dead. So that all went okay. Then we wiped a few times on Crota, and I figured out I'm terrible with the sword. On the last run we did, one of our guys almost screwed us by trying to Blade Dance on a Swordbearer and died. But, we ended up beating him and I got Black Hammer and Red Death!

Got up to Crota myself, but ended up not getting him down. Have the strategy pretty good though.
