The butcher shop in my town is owned by a Dutch family, I love going in there at the holidays, they load up with all the goodies, cookies, cakes, etc. It's all fabulous.
Aside from that, chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate.
Nuts and Bolts:
3 cups Crispix
3 cups Cheerios
3 cups Shreddies
3 cups Goldfish Crackers
3 cups pretzel sticks
1/2 cup unsalted blanched peanuts
1 cup butter
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 tsp hot pepper sauce
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp celery salt
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp salt
Melt the butter and spices together, drizzle over the cereal, crackers etc. Bake for 2 hours at 250degrees. This year I'm going to change it up a bit by melting cheese in there to the point it's crispy.

My mother-in-law spends hours every christmas making these wafer cigar cookies with chocolate inside, and I don't know how to spell it, but they're pronounced kinijpitchas. Wish I knew how to spell it so I could find a recipe.
Those sound really familiar but I can't put a name to them either.
I'll look through the recipe cards I have and see if I can find it.
My mom makes these sugerbread cookies and these chocolate cookies with cherry's in them and they were to die for. I actually got a little depressed last night when I realized I wouldn't be getting any this year. In fact we aren't going to be having my mom's awesome turkey dinner this year either, its the breaking of a lot of traditions, and the end of a lot of things.

Yes, that's a hard transition. My first Christmas without both my parents, when I was doing my grocery shopping for Christmas dinner, I still had things on my list that I would make especially for them and that nobody else liked. I had forgotten that I didn't need that anymore
12 whole graham crackers
2 cups miniature marshmallows
3/4 cup butter, cubed
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sliced almonds
1 cup flaked coconut
Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 15x10x1-in. baking pan with foil, letting foil extend over sides by 1 in.; lightly coat foil with cooking spray. Arrange graham crackers in prepared pan; sprinkle with marshmallows.
In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar and cinnamon; cook and stir over medium heat until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
Spoon butter mixture over marshmallows. Sprinkle with almonds and coconut. Bake 14-16 minutes or until browned. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack.
Using foil, lift cookies out of pan. Cut into triangles; discard foil.
So good.

While I don't have the official recipe handy, the chocolate peanut butter balls are my go to, it's something like this:
-Take all the sugar you have and pour into a bowl
-Add two cups of icing sugar
-take 2 cups of melted sugar and kneed together the sugar and icing sugar
-take 2 tablespoons of sugared peanut butter, dust with sugar, and blend into the bowl
-Roll mixture into balls about 1 inch in diameter
-Melt semi-sweet chocolate in a double boiler, but sweeten it with half cup of sugar
-Dip balls into chocolate, place on a tray lined with wax paper, and put in fridge to set.
-Optional: add Rice Krispies to mixture for crunch effect.
Honestly I never knew how much sugar these things had until I asked for the recipe once...no more ignorance.
