Brutal. A game we needed to win and this happens. Oh well, the team was due for a losing streak. Hopefully good times lie ahead.

I only saw the last goal but regardless of the defense Ramo needs to be better than that especially against a brutal team like Buffalo. The third goal reminded me of Berra.

			Frustrating result tonight.

I'm on the fence in terms of optimist/pessimist regarding the game. While I agree we outplayed the Sabres and likely should have deserved a better fate, we also didn't have many particularly good scoring chances.

Lots of shots are great, but like we've discovered regarding the corsi argument against us this season, it doesn't tell the whole story.

A few bad defensive lapses cost us the game, but generating a few more chances in tight would have helped a lot too.

Oh well, learn from the mistakes and fix them tomorrow.

I think you'll find mate that statistically speaking whenever a team doubles the shots of their opponents, they generally win despite the defence. Saying tonight's performance wouldn't beat anybody is a ridiculous over-exaggeration. If Enroth wasn't on tonight, we would of won. If we had a tiny bit more puck luck, we would of won. ####, we nearly scored at the end of the game and only lost by a single goal. I understand you're a bit upset that we lost but let's be realists here, our performance despite some brutal defensive mistakes should of won us the game.

Definitely. However, I wouldn't say we forced Enroth into making any great saves.

After a quick look at the highlight clips here:
 http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/con...,2,422&lang=en
I'd say Enroth made a good save on the Byron breakaway, and the Jones wrister + rebound at 15:53 of the 3rd. Honestly thats about it for notable saves.

You mean the last goal which was the 4th. The third goal was he got tangled up in the Buffalo player.

It didn't really with like that though. When a goalie is on like he is, they're directing rebounds away, stopping cross ice passes and swallowing initial shots. Look at Buffalo's goals, they were just scrambles after a shot. If Ramo swallows them up we're not taking about Ramo having a great game either.

Offensively, they played very well. They didn't clear rebounds or cover their man well in their own end and it bit them.

Yeah I agree with that as well. A goalie that is "on" makes all saves look easy. We certainly saw that with Kipper, he would make 1 or 2 highlight-reel saves a game and absorbed everything else.

IMO, tonight was just a mix between the 2 sides of the puck. The Flames had too many perimeter shots, and allowed too many grade-A chances in the crease due to poor defensive coverage and lapses.

IMO, tonight was just a mix between the 2 sides of the puck. The Flames had too many perimeter shots, and allowed too many grade-A chances in the crease due to poor defensive coverage and lapses.

A game like this has me less worried than those come from behind on the third period wins. That's not a recipe for future success. Defensive lapses aren't a trend this year, so I suspect that's easier to clean up than getting outplayed like we were earlier in the year
