Seems like I'm the only person who actually likes this season. Much better then S6 I thought. The series is over the top. Gratuitous violence at every turn. A body count that's gotta be closing in on a over 1000 murders by now. Problems that keep compounding on top of each other. And everyone banging someone. But I love it. It's Sutter's MO. It's cheesy, but entertaining and I know the ending won't disappoint.

I don't hate this season. To me it just hasn't felt like it was the final season until the last two episodes. The show had the violence and over the topness that you referred to throughout this season, but it felt like we've been moving through the over arching storyline (Gemma's undoing) at a snail's pace. It seemed like they were focusing on solving these other problems that they just created and ones that were minor, at least in comparison to Gemma's storyline. The season for me has been up and down, but I'm still enjoying it. I'll miss the show when it's done.

I generally like this season, but final seasons often suffer from the same problems and I find that they are usually not as good as earlier seasons.
It's a full season, so they need to add some plot elements that the viewer isn't necessarily all that concerned with and they usually need to push the plot forward in ways that seem unnatural. Usually the last 3 episodes are a whirlwind.
Closure just isn't as naturally entertaining as cliffhangers.

Well that was pretty intense. I was doubting that it would play out that way. Looks like all that is left is for Jax to meet Mr. Mayhem. Nooooooo!

I thought it was a pretty bad episode, Nero's acting was almost as bad as Jacks. Unsers death was so anti climatic, after all that time on the show. And Gemma just kind of sniffs once, and then she is fine. This guy who has done so much for her and she has spent so much time with is laying dead right beside her, and she can't even shed one tear for him.
Wayne deserved better than that.
I don't understand the obsession with rape either. Why do we need to keep seeing Juice get raped? We get it, people rape people in this jail. It has kind of lost its edge and it was just like "seriously, again?".
Overall this season has been horrible and I doubt they can save it in one episode. Definitely should have ended this show a few seasons ago.. got greedy.

I didn't love the episode but I think they were putting Gemma in kind of a shock like acceptance and I think that works. She knew her fate, accepted it and then just blocked everything out.
Wayne did deserve a better exit. That made no sense to me.
They are really trying to show Juice get his punishment or something, or make people understand why he is just giving in.
Jax is gonna plant his bike into the same rock as his dad and the club will roll on. I'm glad the train wreck will end soon. They should have kept it simple and it could have lasted a bit longer and been better.

The music though has been fantastic this year. That Ed Sheeran cover on this last episode was fantastic. Set the mood very well.

The obsession with Juice getting raped (and Jax's ass for that matter) makes you ponder if Kurt isn't a bit of a closet case. A lot of homo erotica in this season. Thankfully it's over AND we don't have to see Marilyn "Porker" Manson anymore either. Jesus he's gotten fat.
As to the epiosde, it was alright but somewhat anti-climatic. Gemma got too serene and peaceful a death and Unser was obviously pure shock value but it didn't even shock. True shock value would have been letting Gemma live and telling her he's gonna get Mayhem'd and he's hiding his kids from her (or even more shocking, killing himself in front of her). Also felt they should have used the Vic Mackey cameo a bit better, somehow you gotta work Venus into that one right?
And naturally Unser calls off the APB and Jax's armed robbery is conveniently brushed aside like it never happened. Not that it matters cause he will be dying, but still a little continuity in writing isn't asking much I hope.

If you've ever wanted to own a piece of SOA, your chance is coming up:
http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/12/02/so...archy-auction/
Quote:
An auction site is expected to host the sale of 750 props, wardrobe pieces, and memorabilia from the set. (No, the Reaper table isn’t among them. Yes, Bobby’s eye, the carving fork that killed Tara, Kyle Hobart’s melted back tattoo, and a Chucky’s chili severed head are.) The launch of the auction is still being determined.

Additional items will be added from the final episode once it airs, but here are some of the prize pieces already confirmed to be on the block:
• Jax’s SO and NS rings, hoodies, SAMCRO belt buckle, Nike sneakers—along with his crash Harley and helmet
• Additional Harley-Davidson motorcycles
• Unser’s Airstream
• The president’s gavel (gasping allowed)
• Nero’s business cards, cardigan sweater
• Chibs’ rosary, sunglasses, jeans, boots
• Tig’s Dickies, rings, silver medallion necklace
• Juice’s CDC prison uniform, cigar case shiv (somewhere, Kurt Sutter is laughing), and hand sanitizer

• Clay’s chain wallet, ring, bandana, restraint mask from prison

I want:
Jax's goggles
Whatever that perfume/cologne was that made Tara rub one out after visiting Otto in jail
Marilyn Manson's eyebrows - I'm assuming they shaved them on set right?
What am I missing?

Just watched last weeks... What was the verdict on the homeless lady that keeps popping up? She's the mother of the bi-polar kid that porking Rat? And they're the family of the guy that JT ran into when his brakes gave out... is that the theory?
Why does Jax have to bang a chick every time he kills someone?

What was up with Jax's limp? It's far too late in the game to introduce something like that in the 2nd last episode...unless it's pretty important. Is his MS going to flare up at the same time as his father's, crashing his bike and getting hit by the semi-truck driver who gave Gemma a lift?

It's obviously a critical piece to the storyline, but pretty late to be just handily writing it in.
Does it somehow complete the circle of him turning into Clay?
I still contend he's going to tie up all the loose ends and put it into the rock like his Dad did.

I'm amazed anyone will defend this disaster of a season. I've been watching it out because I've invested so much time into it and at one time I thought it was an excellent show. But this whole season has been some weird ego trip for Kurt Sutter and the writing staff.
What's with all the cameos? They serve no purpose other than to give Sutter's Hollywood pals some street red on what was once an edgy show. Normally it wouldn't matter except they've all been given too much time and their acting has been terrible. Seriously... Courtney Love as the kindergarten teacher? That's some Sliver-esque trolling right there. Seemingly innocuous but we all know better.
The regulars' acting too has been uniformly terrible. Even great actors like Walter Goggins have stunk it up with hammy overacting. The worst are those kids that play Abel. Yes, I know they are kids but they suck. And don't give me the line about how they're supposed to be the children of a former addict. They're not method acting so give that a rest. Actually the worst has been Annabeth Gish as Chief Jarry. Holy dinah has she been bad. I'm almost thinking it's some kind of game she's playing with the directors - a test, if you will, as to whether she can deliver her terrible lines without emoting anything. So far, she is winning.
And the writing has been the worst of all. It has just been atrocious. How the hell are so many people gonna get murdered and law enforcement does nothing? That place would be swarming with cops of varying jurisdictions. But nah... things keep rolling in Charming.
And all these people know Jax thinks the Chinese killed Tara - including the Chinese! - and no one is jumping up and down to ask him why the heck he thinks that? Geez louise. I almost laughed when Lin just seemed to shrug off Jax's claim that he was responsible for Tara's death. Come on!
Now Jax has the yips? Oh... ok. Why not?
And what's with showing all the violence? I know it's never been a soft show, but this season has been ridiculous. Torturing Tara's alleged killer? Killing the Diosa 'workers'? Juice getting raped over and over like my ears when a Marilyn Manson song is on the radio? Ridiculous.
And finally these over long episodes are just ridiculous. Pure ego on the part of the show runners. Nothing has been added by these long episodes. It's like they think we're admiring of Hunnam's acting ability to look quizzical. I'd love to see the script directions: "Jax looks into the distance for two minutes straight, appears pensive"; "Gemma leaves Teller Morrow office strutting across the empty lot only to realize she needs to strut back to the office to get her key - whole scene shot in almost slow motion, arty look as sun sets, must take two minutes."
