The Coyotes are looking to move Yandle, I doubt they'd even consider moving OEL, for reasons others have already noted. I'd want them to take a run at Yandle, but even then it would probably take a first rounder +++. That and I think Burke may have burnt some bridges when it comes to Yandle, Ryan, and Jack Johnson from his comments back during the Olympics selection process. Maybe they've gotten over it, but I could see how it could negatively effect negotiations a bit.

Look Bob, you're one of the best in the business but that is some Dreger level insight. I expect more from you.

2nd pairing d-man. 1st on the Yotes cause they have no better options.

See how opinions work? At least I tried to explain mine. Instead of "he's easily this, you're wrong."

Derp derp.
Sounds more like you looked at his stat line, made an 'opinion' was proven wrong by multiple posters and now are bitchy about it. I know how opinions work, and you could also have the opinion that the Oilers are a cup contender, but it would be pretty easy to disregard that as well as your views on OEL

Interesting proposal actually, as far as fan proposals go.
Oh, I got the gist. But it was so obviously stupid I felt it didn't warrant comment at all.

Why not propose trading disposable players for Edmonton and Buffalo's picks too?

Count me in as wanting to snag one (or two) of Washington's depth defenders.

Alzner, Carlson (sp), and Orlov, are all guys that have been pushed down by the Caps recent spending spree on defence (Orpik and Niskanen).

Maybe not big names, but the Flames have a dire need for young 2nd pairing defencemen with potential 1st pairing upside.

We're not getting OEL. If the Coyotes have any sense (and they do), they will be building around him for years to come.

I think the Flames are in a position to include Backlund in a package deal to get a legit upgrade on the wings. Add in a decent prospect plus a potential boom/bust guy like Baertschi and I think a few teams will take notice of that package.

Carlson is playing on the first pairing in Washington (and rightfully so)

Similar to OEL, he would cost the Flames far too much to acquire.

I want Alzner, I think he'll do well behind Brodano.

So what teams wouldn't make a move on a big name player if it made sense? Don't get this at all.

I highly doubt the capitals would trade Alzner or Carlson. More than likely this is Greens last year in Washington.

I actually like the Semin and 1st for Baertshi and 1st proposal. Gives both players a change of scenery to see if they can flourish, while also ridding Carolina of a bad contract. The fact that Carolina's ownership is cheap may be enough to give up their 1st which will ultimately be in the lower 3. Draft top 3, you get your franchise player and put up with the BS of Semin for 2 years, then trade away your 2016 1st rounder + some salary to a team willing to play the same game with Semin's 3 remaining years @$7M/season (minus the salary the Flames would be covering). I personally don't see much harm in doing this. All depends how cheap Carolina would be and if it would be enough to save them $35M over 5 years. We'd end up ultimately with a franchise player assuming Carolina continues their play.

Wait. You don't see harm in getting stuck with that contact plus throwing a pout grenade in the middle of a great dressing room??

Potential 1st overall pick... Semin maybe bury him on our ECHL?
