Got over-nerfed into oblivion. You can pull more DPS just being proper Protection now.

Glad is fun as hell though and you're pretty much unkillable out in the world. However, I want them to fix Arms so I can play it again. Not just a numbers increase like they did to Fury today, but a rotation fix. It's just way too boring to play right now.
Bring back Overpower. Seriously ... how can Arms, the 2hander spec, not have Overpower? It's not even logical.

There is no difference between Glad and regular Protection in that respect.

It seems like they didn't really understand Glad's numbers. It does decent, not great, damage in pure single target, but it gets slaughtered in cleave situations.

Depends how you spec and glyph, I guess. I find cleave and multi-mob pack situations are where I sky rocket as prot. The nerf to Revenge hurt, obviously.
In fairness, I think trying to give prot a dps setting was a bit silly. If the goal was to give players a sword-and-board DPS option, and it couldn't be a Paladin, I feel giving Fury the option to use a shield as a second weapon is a better choice than trying to turn the tanking spec into a DPS. Hell give something, anything to Fury to make it somewhat palatable. I'd still take a Gladiator Warrior over a Fury Warrior ten times out of ten if they're on even terms.

For some reason Frost DK's got a slight buff, hunters MM got a debuff, Shaman and Fury Warriors also see a lot of love. Good on Blizzard for seeing they were wrong and attempting to make it right. Going to test the Fire changes in PvP tonight.
|
Frost DK didn't need a buff, but I won't complain. Pulling 20k+ normally before the buff. Good to see a buff to Shaman healing. Extra 5% healing on everything, might make it more tolerable.

I started levelling my priest last night ... but god I hate shadow so bad. I have a rogue, shaman and hunter I can also level. I wonder if elemental is less painful than shadow atm.

Is it better to go holy/disc and just instance level?

Instance levelling would probably be ok if there wasn't the garrisons and quest lines that phase.
I went 1-80 as Disc when I first made the thing, then 80-85, then 85-90 ... but it's way slower now smiting. Like painfully slow. So I figured I'd just bite the bullet and go shadow. It's an awful awful spec though

I also really hate MC.

Got the mount in Firelands tonight while farming it for gold ... was feeling lucky, ran original MC and the first binding I've ever seen drop dropped off of Geddon. Now I'm locked into farming Garr forever

lol lucky me buff mages, I shelved my mage except for dailies and garrison, and nerf hunters whom I love now and main.
But I did LFR on both yesterday, similar ilvl, hunter I could feel the drop in dps, still very solid. Mage has real reliance on near perfect timing on frost orb and debuffs, noticable increase, 2 of us mages were top 5 at the start of fights but the longer it went we dropped.
Sticking with hunter, so much more fun and still feels way more powerful in daily normal mob killing.

My main is Shadow and I thought levelling was super easy, like a hot knife through butter. There is a huge difference between lvl 99/100 as your rotation will change completely. No more dots at 100.

Yeah, I assume that if I knew how to play it it would be better. I just legitimately never learned how to play shadow. Single mobs are easy obviously, I'm just not familiar with all the tools at my disposal when things get hairy.

It's more of a single target class. Doesn't really work well with packs.

Also, the self healing seems way lower than I remember ... and sporadic. Vampiric Embrace seems to be the only spell that explicitly states healing from damage, but occasionally I get self healing from some other source. I haven't bothered to check from where

In a UBRS run the other night, I ended up using almost all my CC's (Shaman) because the tank was too squishy. First time since early Cataclysm that happened!

For Fire Mage, since the new buffs, I have noticed a lot more crits resulting in a lot more instant cast Pyroblasts. They increased the base crit chance from 5% to 15%.

That place is evil, and is to not be taken lightly. So far my most traumatic experiences since coming back have included that place and either doing the CM or trying to get an underleveled guildie the Leeeeeeeeeeerrroooooooy!? Achievement.
UBRS can go straight to hell. Reminds me of Heroic Magister's Terrace when it first dropped.

The only thing I hate about UBRS is when tanks just have to tank mobs in the covered stairway halls that angle up which totally messes up your camera angles. Pull them into the bigger room #######!

Vanilla UBRS/MC was the same way. I feel people have lost those skills.
