Crap, someone I know sent me passes for the weekend. I'm tempted to look at flights but I better not.
Sigh, I wish this was in the spring.

I didn't get my ps4 on release day, didn't get mine till summer so maybe they changed things up a bit, but I've had no issues with the battery life.
Granted it's not the 6 or 7 days I got with the ps3 one, so I guess in comparison the battery isn't as good. Perspective

I'm lucky to get 6 hours out of mine but they are launch controllers. I may buy a new one here if the new ones last longer.

Try going into the controller options instead, you can set the brightness level of the LED on the controller down or even turn it off completely. Made a big difference to how long my controllers last

^ Speaking of controllers, PS4 ones are $39 on amazon.ca. Black and White only though.

I did dim it (didn't know you could completely turn it off) that as it's one of the main culprits to the short battery life but I believe that after hearing stuff from people with newer controllers that they have made some changes as even with the light dim I don't gain a lot of battery life as it depends on the game you are playing and dependence on the light. For example in Alien Isolation as every time you use your motion tracker trying to track the alien the light bar continually flashes and there are instances in this game where you are constantly tracking. It sucks the batteries faster than other games.

People game for 6 or 8 hours straight!
I guess that is why I never have an issue...don't have that kinda time for gaming. My PS4 controllers are on a charger when not in use, I couldn't figure out why people were having issues with battery life but I guess if you are playing that long at a time....must not have 3 kids like me I guess lol

Roughly 6ish hours is around where both my controllers are too. Not too much of an issue but I'm usually annoyed by headset having a weak battery.

No worries though. Street Fighter V Turbo will be on XB1, Street Fighter V ultimate on 3DS, and Street Fighter V Turbo Ultimate World Warrior Extra Fireball Attack on the PS5.
That being said, I surrender. BRB, off to Future Shop.

I've had all 3 of the current gen systems since day 1.
After about a year, I'd say the split of time spent is:
60% PS4
30% Wii U
10% Xbox One
I'm pretty frustrated with the Xbox. Last game I bought was the Halo: MCC and to this day it is still messed up. I can get into the odd game on-line, but far from a smooth experience.
I also don't see much hype around the Xbox. Most of my friends are now on the PS4.
Side note, the Wii U is unreal right now. Smash Bros., Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2 and Toad's treasure tracker are taking up more and more of my gaming time.

It's still broken? I haven't touched it in a while and gave up on any matchmaking in the meantime.

driveclub would have been amazing if it was ####ing finished lol
games these days
With this patch driveclub is the best looking game I have ever seen, PC included...anyone who doesn't think next gen is much of an upgrade needs to see it in action with the weather effects.
if they would have taken the extra year with this game it would have been something to behold

xbox live itself has been messed up for over a day now so I'm not too sure how the latest patch has helped
another game that would be good if fixed/finished

Yeah really is a shame that devs don't get the time needed to polish games anymore.
