Interesting that they pull the trigger the day after a huge come from behind overtime win. I'm sure this decision has been made for quite some time already though.

Totally lost the room, from what I understand, had to happen.

Can anyone post some of the comments that people seem to be talking about? I've heard people talk about his overly negative comments, but I can't see anything on a quick search.

I dunno. That sounds like a regular quote by MacLean to me. He's kind of an odd guy

You guys talking about his 'scared to death' comments?

Quote:
No coach ever admits to being afraid of losing his job and Paul MacLean, should anyone even bother to ask, would be no different.

Besides, he's busy dealing with a whole number of other fears at the moment.

"All I know is I'm scared to death no matter who we're playing," MacLean said before Saturday's game when TSN's Chris Cuthbert asked if he'd be more worried facing a hot or cold Sidney Crosby. "Whether it's Sidney Crosby or John Tavares or the Sedins, I go day-by-day and I'm just scared to death every day of who we're playing.

"And sometimes," MacLean added. "I'm scared to death of who I'm playing."

The latter was either a playful, serious or semi-serious dig at his under-achieving players. We're not sure, nor are we sure if the players are under-achieving or if they're really not that good. If it's the former, perhaps a coaching change is in order here.

British PM has a side gig as an interim NHL coach? Probably not the best choice.

Ottawa Silly Nannies.

Thankfully, you would never hear Hartley make a comment like that. Can't feel good as any player to hear that

Those quotes seem totally benign to me. Probably too honest, is all.
I don't know what the Sens are expecting this year. Whatever issues they have, the coach doesn't seem like it would be at the top of the list (not that I am paying close attention to them).

Devils should probably be talking to MacLean right now. DeBoer is garbage.

How does Maclean lose his job while Eakins still has his?

They are done this season. Bringing in a new coach now doesn't do anything except possibly hurting their draft position.

And because the Oilers change coaches almost every year. Eventually someone in management has to figure out that maybe, just maybe, the players are the problem.
