Default Who will make the playoffs in the Western Conference?

Just curious as to how people on the forum think the playoff picture will look like by the end of the season. Here is my prediction:

CENTRAL:

1. Chicago
2. St.Louis
3. Nashville

PACIFIC

1. Anaheim
2. Los Angeles
3. Vancouver

WILDCARD

* Calgary
* Winnipeg

Pretty much that. Its why tonights loss stings so much, because we need to keep as far ahead of the Sharks as possible. Between us, Winnipeg, San Jose, Minnesota and at a stretch, Dallas and Colorado for those 2 wild card spots.

So much so to be determined, and seeding is completely impossible at this point. However, only one or two teams that are in now won't be at the end of the year, so I'll just last my top 8 in no order:

Anaheim
LA
Chicago
St Louis
Minnesota
Nashville
Vancouver
Calgary

My two that might flip are Calgary and/or LA out for Winnipeg and/or San Jose in

Only 2 "out there" predictions for the west for me:
1) LA could miss the playoffs
2) Minnesota finishes second to Chicago in the central

I wouldn't be shocked if LA was a wild card or even missed the playoffs

I can't wait to see a Winnipeg Whiteout. It's been 19 years.

And it'll be another 5, at least.

I predict Dallas goes on a tear after Christmas and just beats out Minnesota for the last spot.

As for the Jets, I just don't see it.

The Kings can take a hike this year. Like the SF Giants they can only win the cup in even numbered years.

I think realistically the Flames are bound to stagnate a bit but will still be able to squeeze in at 7th or 8th due to the number of points already earned.

The three best teams from the Pacific, the three best teams from the Central, and then the next two best teams in the Western Conference.

That's a little sad since the Jets will miss the playoffs again this year.

Cant believe the Sharks play the Oilers 3 out of the next 5 games. Jesus. At least they get thrown into the Western grinder after that.

The only thing I know for sure is that the oilers and Arizona will not make the playoffs. Even though the flames have been playing lights out they are not far out from missing the playoffs. I think it's going to be a tight race between a bunch of teams, flames included, for the final 2 spots.

No better way to re-ignite a rivalry than a playoff series.

Would both love and hate a matchup against the Canucks in the spring.

As much as I like seeing oilers crumble, I would love to see them win 2 out of 3 vs sharks.

Can't believe I'm saying this but Calgary had me thinking of playoffs! Never would have imagined at the start of the season and with all the injuries. If the top 4 Dmen stay healthy I think we can make it.
