Sitting Engelland for Diaz was questionable. Diaz had a major mistake and also looked lost at points. Our response in the 2nd half of the second period was good to see. San Jose was turning it on hard but we slowly brought it back to flames hockey.

This video always cheers me up after a loss to the Sharks.

Screw you Marleau.

Stajan looked better than I thought he would be.

C'mon, missed calls are annoying, but they don't decide games
All it comes down to is: what is a penalty? If it's defined, then why is it a penalty now but not later? I don't think the time of game should come into play. But since it does, it's frustrating when it is only on one side. And it looks VERY bad on the refs to miss the exact same calls they made mere seconds earlier, I don't even think it's arguable. A penalty is a penalty and the refs get way too much leeway, to get away with so blatantly missing the exact same call you called 30 seconds ago. How many officials are there on the ice? Are they not bound to a book of rules? Or can they just make up whatever rules they want on the fly? Too many judgement calls, should be by the book. Not like it's ever gonna change, though.

I far prefer the new post game hockey talk vs Scott Oake asking awkward questions on After Hours

The Flames had major issues getting the puck out of their own zone against the bigger Sharks team. That's why they lost.

Stajan was ok conditionally but was a big reason for the turnover in the corner on the tying goal..or was it the winning goal? I can't remember. He should not have been out there given the situation..time of the game and just coming back. Shouldn't even send a guy over the boards in the last part of the third whose been out for 6 weeks. Poor coaching there, Harts. Shows he still likes the vets no matter what the situation. That was disappointing. Very disappointing and hurt our chances. Injured guy comes back, want a feel good story..well....

Flames have to sprinkle in a single regulation loss every once in a while. Unfortunately the refs REALLY wanted it to be vs the Sharks.

Jonas gets his net back and we blow out the next three opponents. Biz as usual.

The Flames inability to score on the game ending PP cost them.

The Sharks are on the 3:30 train to nowhere, Flames are going places. I ain't even mad at the Sharks. I feel sorry for them that their future is so bleak

At least this bodes well for the Leafs on Tuesday. Will be at the game with my leaf loving colleague.

Thornton and Marleau are only a season or two away from the twilights of their careers, and they've done nothing, in how many years of playoffs?

Perfectly happy being a Flames fan right now.

When was the last time the Flames outplayed the Sharks like this?

1995? When Fleury and Sullivan had the double hat tricks?

This team is for real I think. They are skating with the elite teams.

The Flames lack of size really showed tonight though.

Delayed penalty in the last two minutes? Can't be passing around the puck wasting time. Rather be playing those 30 seconds 6 on 4, than 6 on 5. If you don't want to just give them the puck, just shoot it.

Anyway, that's not why they lost, just have to be a bit smarter there.
