Follow up question has to be: "Okay, so you've switched out 14+ players on this roster since you've been the GM but the results are getting worse. It is not time to consider that the constant throughout that period is actually the problem, which is the core?"

Unreal. Fans must be losing it. He's out of his mind.

Fans will eat it up. McDavid/Eichel will be summer 2010, 11, 12 all over again.

Stamkos took a few years? Yeah, those 3 90+ point seasons in his 2nd-4th years were all part of developing him.

Basically just said that while Oilers management is going on about sticking with the plan, the truth is the plan isn't working and is all wrong. MacT turned it around on him and asked what a better alternative plan is.
So far the only reporter that has asked anything of a real question and made MacTavish squirm a bit. The media should be ripping this team apart right now.
Never change Edmonton.

Not to mention 50+ goals in just his second season.
This is just absolutely the best thing Flames fans could hear today.
More excuses and MacT backing his guys. Absolutely excellent news.

I can't actually watch, is he actually mentioning McDavid ... or just not so subtle hints on the draft?

Eakins is evolving as a coach.
Apparently this is only year 8 of a 30 year rebuild. Everyone's developing, everything's ok.

Very sought after at the time. Now he is worth nothing...

I don't understand this comment by Pronman
Corey Pronman @coreypronman
I poke a lot at EDM (who doesn't?), but have little doubt MacTavish could be an elite GM. Very well-rounded knowledge, guy who gets it.

There have been some dry spells during Eakins time as coach... That's a massive understatement.
