Honest question, does Ferland make Bouma redundant?

Don't know who paid the Flames to stop skating for 10 minutes there but it's like they flipped a switch again with 5 minutes left.
Man I do NOT want to lose to this overrated team. Get on Varlamov early and often.

No. Not at all. Two completely different players. Ferland has oodles of skill compared to Bouma.

No.
I see Ferland playing a different role than Bouma. He's a possible second line winger. He doesn't replace Bouma's penalty killing, shot blocking, energy.

Agreed. Ferland is a potential top six power forward; Bouma is more of an energy guy/PK specialist.

With similar toughness, I'd rather have Ferlands skill/toughness in the line up once all the healthy bodies come back

Ugly period by the Flames, but they picked it up in the last couple of minutes there. Avs are the first team we've faced in a while that are actually matching us in the speed department. They look like a better team than their record indicates.

Possibly. Depends on the other players in the lineup. If Granlund ends up on the wing, and Baertschi sticks with the big club, then Ferland may end up on the 4th line, bumping Bouma. That doesn't take into consideration other players on the farm looking to make a push. Bouma is a quality 4th liner, but as better players filter into the system his time may be limited. That is the nature of the life of a 4th liner. Remember when Prust was going to be a Flame forever?

No.
Flames completely stopped skating and persuing for 10 minutes in the second. Avs took advantage, but when the Flames were playing their game they looked like the stronger and quicker team. Avs definitely have skill but I don't think they have great team defense. Luckily for them Varlamov has come up big so far.

Lets have a big third here guys. I know we can't win every game, but I'd like us to beat the Avs.

Avs would say they were the better team for most of the period but stopped skating for a bit
