I got to see him play in the mid to late 60's...as smooth a skater as I can remember...too bad he played for the Evil Empire...RIP.

Jean had a long lasting friendship with former Expos player Rusty Staub.

Fantastic player and an even better human being. I consider myself deeply fortunate to have seen him play as a kid. R.I.P.

Was fortunate to have met him a few years ago, had a brief chat, signed a couple of autographs. His penmanship at 79 was still perfect. Dad's eyes lit up when I gave him his personally autographed Beliveau picture for his birthday.

Sad day. I was expecting to hear of a hockey legend's passing, just not him. RIP, Jean.

They don't make many like Beliveau anymore.

Great tribute piece on Beliveau by Stephen Brunt. Both the article and the video are worth reading/watching.

They don't make sports superstars like this anymore. RIP Jean.

What a great example of a human being.

Rest in peace Mr. Beliveau.
