That was a total one up message sent to Brodie. Anything you can do I can do better! That was.... mind numbingly brilliant.

Lol. Friedman accidently referred to the Flames as "Chi-Calgary". I like it.

It's weird that their playing Smith tonight Dubnyk has played much better this season even if he is getting the easier starts. It seems unnecessary to play Smith both nights of a back to back.

Great break down on that play by Jooris by Friedman.

They see Smith as their number one goalie and are trying to pump him up with back to back starts.

I don't know, You have to try and get your Franchise goalie back into the saddle. Dubnyk played well but he's the back up.

As long as our Corsi turns out OK, I'd say that was a pretty good period.
Oh, wait....

Well they shouldn't of played him against Calgary then.

Anyone else chuckle when they announced the Safeway Score and Win winner as Mr. Akbar Husein when it was actually Mir Akbar Husein? Haha

Just watched the replay. Holy tits that pass by Russell...
Nice hand-eye by Jooris to actually get his stick on it too. That's not easy to do.

Corsi and PDO or whatever = useless. if these stats were anywhere near accurate, the Oilers would be in the Flames position in the standings and vice versa. Totally useless. You cannot quantify the intangibles it takes to play this sport. It's far too fluid to break stats down like they do in baseball.

I know it's not a popular opinion, but I like Jones on this team. He's clearly a very smart guy and he's tough to stop when he uses his big frame to go hard to the net.

What a treat, hey? Not to mention he holds back so much on the big Saturday night stage, due to the "quick hit" format they use with George hosting.
You can tell he always has more to say in his own thoughtful, smooth Elliot way, but then he gets frustrated with the style and pace and of that roundtable and he ends up shutting down a bit.

I don't think it's unpopular, I just wouldn't expect him here past his contract ending next year.

Ya i would say these "advanced stats" are probably a better predictor of performance than regular stats because they capture more of the picture. However people take their importance way too far; you can't just wave around 2 stats and predict the standings with them.
