Except in Vegas.

We can dislike his Instagram photos all we want but the fact is that he makes a lot of money as a reward for working hard at his craft and having a pretty solid NHL career so far. Could he use a dose of humility? Perhaps. I'm just making the argument that no one should be giving him a hard time for not being the perfect role model for kids. Sorry, but being a good role model is not a requirement for pro athletes.

I also hate that I'm now somehow defending Kane because I think he's not that great of a hockey player. But whatever.

Brian Burke disagrees vehemently with you.

But I actually do agree with the fact that this photo falls under the "whatever" category. Who are we to judge a guy doing what makes him happy and is perfectly legal? No one getting hurt by it.

Teach your kids the difference.
"Dad, can I have a Mark Giordano jersey for christmas?"

"NO! now go read the biography of Martin Luther King Jr."

Obviously it would be nice if elementary school kids idolized Gandhi et al. but is that a realistic expectation?

... I say no.

Athletes shouldn't be your kid's role models.
Watching the tributes for Jean Beliveau tonight I have arrived at the conclusion that athletes like him are the exactly who our kid's should have as a role model. Mr. Beliveau was dignity and humility personified, a man of great character. Character that E. Kane does not display (and clearly does not possess)

Bad timing yet again for Kane considering his start to the season

I want Evander Kane on this Flames team so much. I'd trade Baertshi+ for him in a heartbeat. Young player with a 30 goal season under his belt, unhappy in his current situation, brought to here where there is a solid leadership group and other young players working hard? Yes friggin' please.

Fanboy.

You have obviously never played hockey before.

You would risk messing with the Flames Chemistry and Dressing Room Comaraderie to bring this fool to Calgary?

Let's Bring Iggy back while we are at it. He has a 30 Goal Season under his belt as well.

Then we will Trade for Phaneuf

I don't think that is what it going on here at all. Kane deserves criticism for this because it's stupid. I tend to find stupid things either funny or obnoxious, and this was not funny. I don't think I'm alone in this.

Hopefully E. Kane is reading and listening to some of the tributes to Jean Beliveau on all sports radio shows today. Maybe a light will go on.
