The White Noise Thread - What helps you sleep at night?
So I think we had this discussion a while back and someone here recommended a great air humidifier I bought that made the best noise to sleep to. I have since burned it out and I can't find the same one, I tried a different one from Wal Mart, a Sunbeam one, but it is whisper quiet.
I want some background noise to block out the busy downtown/other tenants in the building. We generally are in bed around 9 as we are up at 5 AM. I have a fan, but it just isn't loud enough either.
Any suggestions?

I usually sleep best with the tv on. I climb into bed, turn anything on the tv and will be asleep within 10 or 15 minutes.

I sleep with a loud fan next to my bed. I'm an incredibly light sleeper.

2 Benadryl, 9mg melatonin, a ceiling fan running, and the loudest, most obnoxious portable fan running. And I don't let the pug sleep in my room. Sometime I take Sublinox, but I've been trying not to for the past ~6 months.
None of this really works as well as I'd like, but it helps?
(Except the Sublinox, that works pretty well)

Easy with the melatonin. That is to reset your circadian rhythm, not get you to sleep in a jiffy. It sounds like the OP does not have a problem with that, just in need a good white noise app.
http://www.rainymood.com/ is good if you have wifi. Not sure on a good app. They have free versions in the app stores.
If you are looking for medicinal sleep aids I would suggest Zzz-Quil.
Our humidifier is a sunbeam. We use it every night. requires weekly (the instructions say daily) maintenance.

I fall asleep listening to music from a dock with a sleep timer. Naturally its super-intense metal, but it works for me somehow.

I use rain, rain. Wondering if the "airliner" sound is similar to a humidifier.
https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/rain...478687481?mt=8
Honestly though. Shouldn't you be telling us what humidifier burned out so we can see if we can find one for you? Record the sound when you buy it
