It us funny how after you have been quit for a long period of time you can't imagine what the hell you were thinking. Just grosse.

1 month exactly today.

I put that quit pro app on my phone like Barnes showed, and mine is way less obviously, but the number not smoked is eye opening. Barnes app shows almost 3,000 not smoked, just imagine a physical pile of 3,000 cigarettes, and knowing you didn't smoke them. Mine is about 300 but it is still a fistful of cigarillos, in my case, not smoked.

crazy eh? congrats to you.

If I am still quit by Aprilish when golf is starting again, I will have a good chance, I think. This year I quit a week after golf was over instead of a month before it starts.

Do you have the pro versioin of that app? Mine has circulation instead of heart, and I dont' see where to change it, I don't have the pro version.

Just pounded through all 9 pages of this thread. Congrats to all those with the iron nuts to quit.

Went to the dentist last week. He pointed out the fact that I've lost both the top and bottom frenulum in my mouth (the little flappy connector from your gums to your lip) from 20 years of copenhagen long cut. It's time. I've designated December 12 as the absolute cold turkey day and have switched to 2mg lozenges before then. I hope this works.

Congratulations to everyone who has quit smoking/chewing in this thread. I am also a sucessful quitter. I quit September 17th, 2013 and haven't looked back.

The biggest thing for me is knowing I can never have another puff of a cigarette, cigar, cigarillo, etc. ever again in my life or I will be right back on the train.

Probably the hardest thing I have ever done in my life.

It would be almost 2 years now. I would guess my not smoked number would be around 7300 cigs. I smoked almost a pack a day sometimes 2 packs. If I drank on that day to it would easily be 2 packs. I could be realistically in the 5 digit make now.

I have been able to quit except for when I drink. Any advice on how to break that association.

I had to quit drinking to do it. For 6 months. (getting horrible bronchitis also helped).

I am at 6 days today. I've found it very easy so far, and I believe it's because I have also quit drinking. Feels good man.

I stopped smoking about 3 years ago. The quitting part got a lot easier when I realized that I had anxiety about not having cigarettes (25 years of 'do I have smokes for tomorrow?' I guess). So I went out an bought a 'binky' pack. I knew as long as I didn't open them I wouldn't be smoking them. Haven't had one since and still have that original unopened pack. Thought about tossing it but it's like my chip now. Just have to get through some stressful stuff right now to not have one again.

I am attempting my first night of no smoking with some beers. I was dreading this night but I am actually looking forward to trying it and getting it over with.

Since New years eve. I quit last year new years eve but I still smoked when I drank. I took most of January off of drinking. Tonight will be attempt number one. Drinking is the last association with smoking that I have to break. I don't even crave a smoke at work or with coffee or while driving. It was just the booze.

I think your big issue will be, are you going to be around smokers?
If not, should be easy.

There will be smokers present. I am hoping to keep my hands occupied with a fake smoke, not an e-cig.

Your only hope is to get so drunk you'll forget about smoking.

You don't need to to this. You are no longer a smoker.

You get to decide, don't let that habit tell you what to do.
