Zemgus Girgenson is 1st? That's pretty impressive.

Gio is sitting pretty at 18th at this point.

I don't mean to throw out conspiracy theories but I think if it were a media vote, there would be a pretty big bias as well, not specifically Eastern but I think smaller market teams would hardly get players in.

I do agree that a fan vote is pretty stupid, how do other sports do it? I kind of like the one player from every team model (then work out extras)

Here's an update from when I first posted the Flames vote leaders (Nov 29th) - (Dec 1st)

Jiri Hudler - 137th place - 120th place (+17)
Sean Monahan - 85th place - 82nd place (+3)
Johnny Gaudreau - 83rd place - 80th place (+3)
TJ Brodie - 42nd place - 35th place (+7)
Jonas Hiller - 31th place - 32nd place (-1)
Mark Giordano - 19th place - 18th place (+1)

Looks like the moves in the rankings are based on the players game play of late with Hudler jumping the most spots with +17 and Hiller moving down 1 spot.

Either way Zemgus Girgensons has hijacked his way to 1st overall in voting which means we should be able to squeeze a couple more Flames in if we all vote everyday (10 times maximum per day).
Like the Flames play this year...we still have the third to come back, don't give up.

I'd rather our best players get a rest and be ready to go for the real games, the all-star game sucks!

Let the masses vote in the usual suspects like the Blackhawks and Habs and Pens. Whatever.

Oh the negativity.
I'm pretty sure the All Star weekend isn't strenuous on the players. Plus it'll be an experience since none of the Flames have ever been in an All Star game or skills competition.

Much rather have a winning team than a fan picked all-star.

The name on the front of the jersey is important not the one on the back.

Just an FYI for everyone

If you tweet a screenshot of your selections @NHLFlames with the hashtag #FlamesAllStars you can win a signed jersey... Not to spam their promotion but I feel like I'm not the only one on this forum who wouldn't mind picking one of those up.

Not that it really matters, but is Hiller behind basically every starter in the league, plus a few back-ups? For shame. Ramo splitting the vote?

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

I'd love to see Hudler get All Star attention.

Why? The game is FOR the fans...

And anyways, the fan vote only decides the top 6. Not the whole thing.
