I watched this team in San Jose last week they are extremely exciting to watch. Took my folks to the game and all my dad could comment on was how fast the d moved the puck. Loving the rebuild and new swagger.

I rewatched it multiple times and I think you are right LOL.

Johnny guard skills so good he does it during the play.

I think it's kind of like chewing gum for baseball players. Completely unconscious of it.

Johnny intensity measured by mouth guard movement? New advanced stat!

If you freeze the play at 47 sec it's already out of his mouth.

He was even chewing it when he was busting down the wing before he scored. Hilariously awesome!

Everything Johnny is doing with this team so far is unreal and I can't wait till he gets more and more used to the NHL game. Like someone else said earlier, he still such a raw player this young into his career, it's exciting to think where he will be in a few years or even by seasons end this year.

This video though, IMO, shows us just how far he's come:

Gaudreau and Kane are so similar it's crazy.

Two smallish, highly skilled, game breaking American wingers who are both New York natives and avid mouth guard chewers, even during play.

If Johnny achieves even half of what Kane has I will be more than thrilled. (He will achieve much more than Kane, don't worry )

Just went through and pulled highlights from the game, here are a few neat plays that may have been missed by some or are just worth a 2nd look but won't show up on any highlight package:

Johnny should wear a rainbow colored mouth guard as a skittles endorsement

I think Johnny can BE Patty Kane 2.0

It's just a confidence/experience thing at this point. The one notable difference Kane has on him when looking at the two. I've noticed for the most part Gaudreau's still been making a lot of perimeter plays and shots. But when he feels confident enough to start cutting to the middle of the ice on more of his offensive zone plays rather than ripping them the outside, he'll start tearing up the scoresheet. He's got equally as many assists as Kane so far, just needs to start putting the goals in and that'll be the key.

Watching the game live, I noticed him every time he was on the ice. I think he'll be our 4th line LW when we eventually have a stacked lineup (maybe 3rd liner since we love Bouma), but he definitely can move up to a middle 6 position if need be. He's a great player to watch.

Weird, guess the host is picky too for some. Unfortunately gfycat has a 15 second limit. On a Mac?
