Jihad John wounded in the same attack as ISIS leader

Well one could only hope, but the world will be a better place without monsters like these walking on the surface.

Also ISIS releases a video showing the execution of 9 hostages including American aid worker and former Special Forces Operator Peter Kassig.
Next in line for execution ISIS has one US hostage left, a female aid worker. ISIS has demanded $6 million dollars and the release of Aafia Siddiqui (sp?) a convicted terrorist.
I think that we should release him into the care of ISIS and dope him up with radiation, every horrible virulent contagious disease known to man and a tracking device.

It looks like Western recruitment is a starting to be a problem for ISIS, but not for the reasons you think. The latest recruits that ISIS has been receiving have been described as 'too fat' to take up Jihad with the terrorist organization. lol

Yeah, why not surgically implant something in him (against his knowledge), like a wire or a mic in order to gather intelligence? Make the transaction beneficial for the coalition...
Or even better, an explosive that can be remotely detonated...

A Canadian expat living in Israel who volunteered to fight with the Kurds was kidnapped by ISIS:

It will be interesting to see if Canada gets involved for her release.

Personally if you find where they are holding her, you send in the best of JTF-2 to kill everyone there and get her out.
If not you follow the russian approach to negotiating with terrorists. You send JTF-2 to snatch some of their senior leaders and start sending them body parts.
The Russians would have also snatched up the wives and children of the leaders and threatened dire consequences but we're not able to drop to that level.

No evidence she's been fighting for an enemy, so, if she's a Canadian citizen, she's Canadian. That's all that matters.

There is a such thing as dual citizenship, and it is extremely common for Canadians to serve in foreign armies.
That being said, she was fighting with a Kurdish force, as opposed to a sanctioned Canadian military operation, and there are inherent risks to that. However, Canada should still try and help her.

Everything I've read has described her as Canadian-Israeli, as opposed to, e.g. Canadian born Israeli or something to indicate that she'd renounced her Canadian citizenship

I agree. May seem like an odd thing to say, but if she was a guy I'd have a little less sympathy for her, but it's a lady, and we know what this group has done to lesser people. Who knows what they're doing to her right now, and that's sad. Certainly she put herself in a terrible position by doing this, but because she's a woman I hope the government tries to save her. Sad really.

Indian IS recruit 'goes home after having to clean toilets'
http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/...M?ocid=UP97DHP
LOL.
Quote:
An Indian student who travelled to Iraq to join the Islamic State group has returned home disillusioned after jihadists made him clean toilets and do other menial jobs, according to media reports.

The engineering student flew home Friday to Mumbai where he was arrested and charged by India's elite National Investigation Agency (NIA) with terror-related offences.

Thought I would update, since I am here in Kurdistan again.
My update is this:
I have nothing to update. Haha. It is extremely quiet within the borders of Kurdistan. My worksite is about 25 kms from the River that serves as the border between the Pesh Merga and ISIS in this area.
If I hadn't stumbled across this thread again, I would have totally forgotten anything was going on (I am a bit detached from the news, as I dont have a TV in my room).
But talking to the Security guys, they couldn't be more relaxed at the moment. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing.
Edit: I should note that there WAS a car bombing in Erbil about 2 weeks ago that spooked the Militia, but since then they have really cracked down on letting ANY Arabs into their borders. Since then there has been no action within the borders.

Always fascinated by your updates. I don't understand why you would continue to work in the region, is it just the paycheck?
