These Oiler broadcasters are the biggest homers in the NHL. Constantly finding ways to praise the Oilers.

It's their job to keep interest in the product. If it's a turd, make it shine!

No it isn't their job. Pretty sure we've went over this before. Their job is to call the games and comment on the games unless you're insinuating the Oilers pay them to be so positive?

Seeing as it's mostly Oil fans tuning into the game, they probably want to be positive about the team so that those fans continue to tune in. Negative comments may have the potential to hurt the viewer #s, so I'd imagine Sportsnet is against it.

Well maybe but the Calgary guys last season weren't positive when we weren't playing well. They told it like it was.
I feel like the Oiler guys are either delusional or are being pressured by the Oilers to be extra positive.

True. I guess the difference could be that we were expected to be bad, just entering the 1st year of a rebuild. The Oil on the other hand are in year 7 (8?)... I think even their most loyal fans are on the verge of tuning out.

Some A+ defensive efforts from Hall in that game. What a team player.

The Oilers, the East and three-point games like Minny and Dallas underscore how difficult it will be for the Flames to get into the playoffs.

True - but the Flames play the Oilers and the East as much as anyone else.

Canucks have beaten some quality teams so far this season..
Habs
Ducks
Sharks
Hawks
Flames
Blues
I don't think the schedule has exactly been buttery soft. Sure they played the Oilers 4 times, but at least they got 8 points in those 4 games. They have actually set a franchise record for the best start in history after 23 games. I found that surprising considering the record they had in 2011. I don't want to get too excited yet because we saw what happened to the Canucks last year after Xmas. However something a little different about this team this year that makes me believe they will be a playoff team. If the Canucks can avoid LA in the playoffs they will win the Stanley Cup.....
