The rare quad.....

kidding, good info.

Yes, I agree. It's very important to not impeach your shoulder.

I'll bet you Bennett is just chomping at the bit right now, seeing the success that the teams are having and in particular the young guys. Given what we've heard about his personality this is probably really hard for him. Can't wait to see what he's got.

This is an unlikely scenario but does anyone know if playoff games count towards teh 9 game threshold?

Just in case in the small unlikely scenario that he comes back, goes to Addy for a conditioning stint, plays his 9 games and then the playoffs start.

If he played a couple games at the end of the season and he was a big contributor, the Flames probably wouldn't care about burning a year on his ELC if its for a playoff run.

The factor that we drafted Bennett is the cherry on top of this season so far for me

We managed to get a potential franchise player from our 4th overall pick. This is why I am not losing sleep over missing out on McDavid.

How are all those 1st overall picks working out for you, Oilers?

no they don't. they don't count for the same reason why playoff points don't count to a players total career points or why playoff games played don't count towards a players 20 games played before they are eligible for the calder trophy. its not apart of the NHL season

When counting games played for things like contract status, playoff games do count.

From the CBA:
Quote:
"NHL Games" means Regular Season Games and Playoff Games.
Quote:
In the event that an 18 year old or 19 year old Player signs an SPC with a Club but does not play at least ten (10) NHL Games in the first season under that SPC, the term of his SPC and his number of years in the Entry Level System shall be extended for a period of one (1) year, except that this automatic extension will not apply to a Player who is 19 according to Section 9.2 by virtue of turning 20 between September 16 and December 31 in the year in which he first signs an SPC.

Default Bennett Out 4-6 Months with Shoulder Surgery

As much fun as this team is to watch, I start to squee like a little girl when I remember we still have Bennett and Poirier sitting in the chamber. Hope his recovery continues to go well and we see him in some playoff action.
