Has anyone noticed lately that the Flames are 1st in GF in the Western Conference, and 3rd overall after TB and Pittsburgh.

Awesome.

The weird thing is, is not only Gio the only Flame in the top 10, but the only one in the top 30.

It's great because the depth is here. when the question was asked "where are all the goals going to come from" the answer was " We have to score by comity, a total team effort" . And it was the right answer. Before Raymond and Colborne went down they were putting up points at a decent clip. When they went down Granlund was there, Jooris came out of seemingly nowhere and when they weren't putting up points, There's Hudler and Glencross and Monahan to chip in. Then there's Bouma who's likely going to have a career high.

It's just a beautiful thing to watch as it's not about just one trigger man, it's about the whole team, which is IMO, what Hockey is all about

As of last night there were 3 Flames (Giordano, Hudler and Brodie) in the top 30 in overall points. I think only St Louis has 3 or more on the same list. The fact that 2 of them are defensemen is really impressive. Lots of players getting involved on the scoresheet, spread throughout the lineup so it's more difficult for opposition defenders to isolate our 1 'star' player. I love this team.

Calgary is getting a TON of scoring from the whole team. Everything is very spread around. Good teams get scoring from all lines or at least 3 of 4, which Calgary is getting. There are no one player or one line that Calgary is relying on. It is a no ego, no BS team, where everyone has bought in. It is absolutely awesome to watch, win or lose!

Teams with a lot of success get scoring from their defence, and from all lines. Calgary is getting that. Not only is Gio and Brodie lighting it up, Wideman has 8 goals.

Obviously Calgary has players that are producing more than others, but the main point here is everyone is contributing.

pittsburgh has Crosby Malkin and Hornqvist in the top 7. But still a cray stat. Something I would have never imagined in September.
