Just figured out today that the outpost you choose in each zone changes the quests you take through the entire zone. Pretty cool idea and makes for good leveling of alts when you don't have to see the same thing every time.

Yes and no ... my desktop died a year ago and I haven't bothered to replace it yet, been making do with a cheap laptop. I was going to buy one early in the new year anyway, this just accelerated it.

How does it work with battletags now? You can add the person to your group through their BT even if you guys aren't on the same server?

So sad going in heroics watching tanks out dps'ing you, went in with another mage, fire, a long time mage main like me and we were both talking afterwards about how since vanilla have we never felt this weak as a mage.
The worst part is if you can barely keep up with the dps of a tank, what is the point, we are squishy, we have good CC (yay!), provide food (delicious!), portals (pfft nobody needs them anymore), Intelligence buff (OP nerf pls), blink (yay I do love running away since I'm so squishy), Damage (hahahahahaha wut)....
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/characte...Thordin/simple
I've got my mage geared enough to see what similar ilvl people look like in comparison, with all my CD's going I can sustain top of the meter for a short while, but if the fight lasts more than 20 seconds I quickly fall to near the bottom. I've tried both multicast and crit builds so far, have yet to go back to fire since leaving it around lvl 96.
I LOVE the mage class, but I see no reason other than logging in for Garrison stuff to continue, time to go Hunter or possibly monk.

I like hunter. I have 3 high level hunters, and really enjoy the class. I didn't like monk, but I've never been overfond of melee.

Yeah my heart is always with ranged, my very first 60 was a hunter so its always been my 2nd favorite class, not to mention the dps numbers I've seen are crazy high.

I started leveling my hunter and the DPS is great. I am two shotting mobs that took me full rotations on my mage, or the hope of some procs. It is great not depending on RNG. They do have a bit of a learning curve mastering the art of trapping, but overall pretty similar ranged DPS with some good CC/survivability. You won't regret hunter Thor if you like Mage. At least until they fix our class.. which may still happen before the patch next Tuesday.

A more experienced hunter might be able to speak to this but I have been leveling as MM. I think for leveling BM might be faster, but MM is the spec I want to use for PvP so I wanted to learn it as I level.
I am not totally sure what the top DPS spec is for PvE. A quick check of the boards seems they can't make up their minds either, lol. I've liked my DPS as MM so far, chimera shot/aimed shot/kill shot is a great combo. From the instances I have run I always am tops at boss fights.

Seems MM because of Lone wolf is the top, but yeah leveling up BM sounds like the way to go.

lol wait till you PUG 40 man Molten core! Took us 4hrs, and I have no idea what made me stay but since I'm +8hrs server time I knew it was one of my few chances to go, so many wipes, soooooooooo much trash mobs!
Reminded me why I hated MC so much, but it was still kind of fun to relive it again, but once was plenty.
By the way, we did the Leeeeroy Jenkins achievement last night to get him as an epic follower for your garrison, great fun, his dialogue is hilarious.

I prefer to level as MM. Aimed, Chimera (if not dead, Kill shot kills it), rinse, repeat. Generally the mob is dead before my pet can get to it. Nice, speedy levelling.
I went through MC for my mount, because I recall the hours spent in there was a Vanilla Raid Leader. I was with my pug from first pull to Rag down. It was a brutal 4 hours spent, as so many folks have been spoonfed raids via the LFR system that they have no idea how an old raid actually worked. We wiped 6 times on the two packs of Corehounds before Magmadar because idiots couldn't make the mechanic work.
Every time we'd start to get into a smooth go at things, someone would lose patience, run ahead to try to pull something...and the raid would wipe.
The "new" MC is more an exercise in patience than anything else...but that mount is so, so sweet...

I went through what you guys did last night. I was a 'bit' more fortunate, my MC run took us about 2.5-3 hrs. My friends were in queue for about 45-50 minutes for a run, I got in in less than 5 minutes... But I soon found out why it took 5 minutes. When I joined the group I got zoned in to MC, people were continually dying and wiping to the first giants. I figured maybe I should leave.. About 6 pulls in the group wiped 3 times, about 10 people left then 10 new people joined right away and we started to roll. Didn't have another single wipe throughout the run even with bad pulls (guessing it was a lot of vanilla guys that joined because everyone knew the fights etc) though I found trash mobs were way harder than bosses. Glad I got my mount and the ilvl 640 helm though.

In raids trash mobs hit hard. Bosses have the scripts to follow. It's always been that way, no?
Edit - Infact the hardest hitting part of the game currently is a pack of trash mobs. The second to last pack in Shadowmoon Burial Grounds. The two bats and two spiders. Holy ####. #### that pack of trash mobs.

Who wants to hook up for a long session tonight?
I'm a ilvl600 Spriest and could use some help getting through the 100 instances.

Blaster from what I gather you're a warrior. Do you just tank or DPS as well?
I'm wondering if the Arms DPS is as bad as the rumours are and if I should just level up my hunter in the meantime until they sort it out. Is their DPS bad to the point where no one wants them?

True. Thing is, folks tend to try to 'sleep through' trash, and you couldn't do that in the Vanilla raids.
For your edit: It's the spiders that are doing it. Focus two dps on one, and the third dps (with a decent interrupt) on the second. The spell they are looking to interrupt is "Deathvenom". Interrupt that, and the fight is much, much easier.
