Good write up. Just a solid road game all around. Great effort from everyone, played smart, and got some excellent goaltending.

Loved that open ice hit from Ferland in the second period, but was hoping someone would jump him and he’d get to show of his fist chucking. He’s a guy that can hit and then back it up. The thing that’s surprised me is his foot speed as he continues to get in quickly on the forecheck
Yeah, that would have been fun. Ferland isn't putting up points yet but he has a lot more to offer than Setoguchi. I liked putting him on a line with smaller guys Byron and Granlund. He looks ready and who could have predicted this two years ago.

Brodie’s two points move him past Brent Burns and into 2nd place in the NHL defenseman scoring race, trailing of course his buddy Mark Giordano. …
Brodie is also third in plus minus behind Forsberg and Tarasenko with a +14.

Speaking of our playoffs chances, the order is starting to take shape with some surprises. Colorado, Dallas and San Jose are looking to be bridesmaids with Winnipeg, San Jose and Dallas our main competition for a spot, so the win tonight was big.

I was happy to set Baertschi not only get a shift with under 10 to go in a 1-0 game but also I thought he had a great last shift with some hard forechecking. I'm happy things are coming together for him and he's learning what it takes to play on this team.

the one I forgot in notes was Jooris wanting nothing to do with McGinn ... that was pretty funny actually

Not a lot of fighting in College hockey.

These game takes are indispensable for people like me who live in far away time zones and are unable to watch many of the games.

It was kind of the Marchand/Sedin treatment

I just thought Jooris was fishing for an instigator penalty.

I don't think these are accurate. There is no way the Oilers, at 0.4%, have that good of a shot at making the playoffs.

It's very nice to see Calgary be in the top half of these numbers for the first time in a few years.

Great to hear, really appreciate that.

It's a grind this year with only me writing them so good to know they are being read!

I can watch the highlights of the game on nhl.com but I basically never have time to watch a game fully after the fact.

What these game takes provide is a sense of the tone and tenor of the game, the flow, the players etc that you just don't get watching the sterile highlights.

I've read nearly everyone for the last ten years, so I for one really appreciate them! With early mornings its often hard to make it through the late games so its great to hear all the little details that cant be seen on the highlights.

Hats off to you and all the other writers over the years.
