... he won 9 of 11 faceoffs & wasn't on the ice for a single goal against. Not sure what else you expect from the 4th line Center after two games.

Made my day. Slept for most of the day with a bad fever and I didn't want to wake up but this works for me

The competition he created in camp and since as a very obviously target for the rookies to feel like they needed to out perform made the signing worth it.
I guess you could say it's too bad it didn't work out for the Flames, but I'm more glad a gluten of our rookies outplayed him badly and forced him down to the farm. Kind of a great out come for the team, wouldn't have happened even last year, despite Seto's poor play because our young guys still wouldn't have been besting him badly enough. Shows great growth for our prospects.

It looks like the Flames are giving Knight one more day at NHL salary before assigning him.
Cutoff to be considered on the NHL roster for the day is 3pm ET.

@darrenwhaynes I bet Setoguchi would be a better coach than Eakins, though. #zing

Dallas Eakins was a Calgary Flame? I definitely don't recall that one.

True, as evidenced by TJG staying up the entire year. Westgarth getting 36 games. Blair Jones, Agostino, Van Brabant all got time.
In what world does Kevin Westgarth get 4 goals and 3 assists in 36 games and Devin Setoguchi gets zero in 12?
Poor guy - closest thing we have to a home town boy on the team, aside from the injured Colborne and Raymond and two gamer Corbin Knight.

^^Still got the hair though. Just don't go touching it, or spraying water on it.
Tough for Setoguchi, but nice to see some kids outplaying some vets. Hope he can rediscover his game on the farm.

Good god . The filth, get it off me!!!
And he even retired as a Flame, during Iggy's first 50 goal season. Strange no one seems to have any recollection of this.

Man, I didn't realize he played defense. I always assumed he was a winger the way he has imparted such a terrible defensive system for the oilers.
Just for kicks, I booted up my old NHL 2002 video game to see if he's there. Sure enough, Eakins is in fact on the game as Flame. He was a 55 overall player. Lowest on the team by far. Which is really saying something for the 2001 Flames.

I remember him a little but what stands out was him and Gauthier wiping each other out on the blueline and allowing Forsberg and Hejduk a 2-0 breakaway. I think they passed it 4 times for a wide open goal against Freddy.
I guess he coaches like he played.
